tblazer_NZParticipantPlus Afflalo and Derrick Williams do too from New York.
It was the oobvious choice for Howard.
What are your thoughts?

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWith Mike D’Antoni in town, Howard was probably in the process of selling his home.. Lol

220ParticipantThe surprising thing is with the cap rising massively, Dwight could still get close to the same amount of money maybe even more.

doubledribblerParticipantMost people don’t realize this. I saw quite a few people saying that he is stupid. Owners give out bad contracts all the time and it’s worse when they have more money than they expected. A guy with back issues, that relies on his (declining) athleticism), on a team with a coach that he didn’t work well with and a star player that is hard to play with…I don’t see how that’s not an easy decision. If he gets 18 a year for 3-4 years that is a win. His salary is more likely to go down as he ages instead of go up. I think a big deal will be on the table for him. It’s just a matter of if he’s willing to go.

BiggysmallsParticipantI would love if there weren’t so many opt-out clauses in contracts these days. It makes it super difficult to know who is going to be a free agent when.
Anyways, I’d assume Howard will get close to that 23 mil per year but he won’t get as long of term. I’d assume he’ll sign like a 2 or 3 year deal with an opt out after 1 or 2 worth in that 20 mil per year range.
Afflalo is another one that intrigues me. I’d love the Wolves to make a run at him as I think he could provide solid play on the wing as either a starter or a bench guy playing 25 minutes a night. Not sure what kind of deal he’s looking for. He’s moved around a ton in the last few years, so I’d offer him a 3-year 30-33 mil type contract.

The GoatParticipantI don’t know what their cap space is like, but Minny could go after both Afflalo and Howard, if they get them and the draft falls the right way, they could be a surprise packet team out there under Thibs.
Dunn (#5)- Afflalo – Wiggins – KAT – Howard
Rubio – Lavine – Shabazz – Dieng – Pekovic off the bench0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/21/2016 - 2:24pm #1075890

festar35ParticipantWouldn’t mind Indiana looking at Williams, could be a nice stretch-4 next to Turner and has a good motor to go along with his athleticism.

Magic JordanParticipantDon’t be surprised when Howard brushes off some teams that are currently contenders and or playoff teams for the sake of inking a much more lucrative contract with a bottom feeder. That just seems like it would be vintage Dwight move. "I just felt this is where I needed to be".

tblazer_NZParticipantI would like Howard in Portland (but for no more than $80m/3) but he will likely be persued by Dallas. They went after DeAndre last year and they would be one of the most likely to pay him… they paid Wesley Matthews a rediculous amount of Money and he was coming off achilles surgery.
Arron Afflalo was benched my the Knicks at the end of last year. He didn’t exactly have a good year , plus he was very bad in Portland once he was traded there. He wants a starting role and I could see a team like Philly picking him up as they seem to want to put a better product on the floor this coming season. He could be a starter there and have some young talent developed behind him.
As for Derrick Williams, I don’t know where he fits but he needs to be an energy guy off the bench.

HitsterParticipantWith Afflalo and Williams opting out the Knicks suddenly have a fair bit of cap space so iy will be interesting to see what they do in FA.
D12 may well make as much next season under the cap rise than he would have done through opting in and he probably feels that if he had waited another year then he’d have not got such a good deal as he can this summer.

TyroberParticipantSomeones going to overpay for him and then watch as he gets worse and worse. Itll probably be a team like the Bobcats who are are the verge of becoming halfway decent and theyll sign Howard with their new capspace and wont end up any better because of it. I have a feeling he might go to his hometown in Atlanta but it still wont make them good either.
