Is this a big deal? Maybe not, considering KD is locked up with the Thunder until 2016... but it is really weird. Why would you do this? I don't care if he is a Jordan fan or whatever. Think about the best player on your favorite team wearing the hat of another team. Wouldn't that bother you a little bit?
It wouldn't bother me, the fact that he signed a longterm deal with the Thunders shows he truly is committed and want to be there. He could have easily went to a big market team like all the stars do (ex Lebron, Melo). This is more as a fashion, those are the SnapBack hats that everyone wears, plus I always thought Bulls logo are iconic (due to Jordan).
But what if Lebron did this? He would of got slammed if he did but because Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant it will go by no big deal.
I personally dont care and I dont think it should offend anybody. Its not like hes competing against the bulls, theres not even a league right now.
Does anybody know if any one ever wore Jordans while they competed against him?
If Lebron wore a Bulls hat and I was Heat fan, it still wouldn't bother me, he's locked up with Heat for 5 years, he's not going any where, plus the Heat destroyed the Bulls in the playoffs, so I would just look at it as if Lebron was a Bulls/Jordan fan growing up. If Lebron wore a Mavs hat, then that would be an issue.
It's definitely not a worry especially since its Kevin Durant. Like Mess.eee said, he signed that longterm deal, and not only that, but he did it quickly and quietly, as if he had no hesitation or no second thoughts. He wants to be there, that's where he belongs. Bulls hats just look good. Seriously though, I have like at least three of them.
I'm from OKC and it doesn't bother me. Besides looks like an older hat, nearly identical to one I had in the 90s, it's probably just one he's had since he was a kid.
It had to suck having the hat size of a 6'10" man when he was a kid
Unlike LeBron, Durant has confessed his love and loyalty for OKC and really embraces the small market. That's why you can't say, "Well, if LeBron would've did this, he would've been slammed." The reason is, is because while LeBron was in Cleveland, he was flirting with most of the big city teams in the NBA for his last two or three seasons. Everyone knew in the back of their minds LeBron would leave, while it's exactly the flip side with Durant. I don't think he'll leave OKC unless they force him out... Which isn't happening.
Durant is wearing a Bulls hat probably because of the Jordan factor or it just matches his gear. No big deal.
I've never seen an OKC thunder hat...ever.
Who cares, it's just a hat.
maybe he likes the colors...
and i dont blame him wearing that hat
its a nice ass hat
So you think it would be cool for Greg Monroe to wear a Wizards hat? Or for Brandon Knight to wear a Hawks hat? It may not bother you, but you have to admit it feels a little weird. For example, I highly doubt we will see Tom Brady wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat next off-season.
A Sonics snapback would've been bada$$
Young guy, probably has "Swagger." He probably just wearing the colors. maybe had on some old Jordans on at the time...I mean, he is signed to Nike.
I've seen that hat all over the place. Probably just tryina fit in with the crowd. Wearing bulls gear is synonymous with paying homage to MJ. It's the cool thing to do. Just do it. Otherwise ur a &$#%#&@!.
According to David Stern contracts don't exist at this point so I'd give Durrant a pass and point my/the middle finger at Stern. I think it be great if all players wore other teams gear since it's the owners who locked the players.
Most people just buy snapbacks because they like the way it looks, not for the team thats on it, soo he probably just likes the hat
Disagree that the team on the hat doesn't matter^. That's like saying the logo on the clothes don't matter. Bulls are a brand now because of Jordan. I would never rock something that I didn't like. Colours mean alot but the team on them means more.
it wouldnt bother me...
if a guy really wanted to go to another team i doubt he would wear there hat in public
and bulls fans, don't get excited lol
With Durant, it doesn't bother me much, but yet, it has to be a bit wierd for Thunder fans.
If my man Steph Curry wore a Suns hat, I would be freaking out and halucinating, and if Jeremy Lin starts wearing a Kings hat, I don't know if I'll be able to survive that.
Maybe I am off but why do we praise Durant for his extension in OKC and bash Lebron? Lebron also signed an extension after his rookie deal. Durant will be in his late 20s when he COULD become a free agent. Who is to say at that time he doesnt want to leave OKC. We didn't think Lebron was leaving when he resigned after his rookie deal.
