Russell0WestbrookParticipantI think its time both these guys get their due credit for being the players they are! For one its time to start calling durant a great all aroud guy instead of just a scorer because he is one of the top rebounders for his position and gets goods assists i know they arent on lebrons level but he’s not a point foward and nothings wrong with that and he’s winning in the west.
It’s also time to give westbrook credit for stepping his game up and being a complete player and not playing out of control costing his teams games People stop saying his assists numbers went up because of durant, because durant is the same great scorer he was last year only he’s going to the line more. It seems people dont want to give westbrook any credit for getting better.
Your argument sounds stupid about his assists anyway because durant creates his own shots and nobody puts up as many assists on any other scorers team except denver so spot acting like all his assists go to DURANT cuz they dont and green get his share of getting them in the offense. If these two stay together they will be a force for years to come!

DanEboyParticipantWho exactly is not giving Durant his due? I think most people agree that he is a top 10 player right now. At 21, that is impressive in itself. He needs to get in a couple post seasons before people start annointing him though.

RickyRubio9ParticipantTop 10..??
I’m thinking higher then 10 for sure though.
LeBron, Kobe, Wade, CP3, B-Roy (Maybe) …After that, I don’t think I’d take Dwight, ‘Melo, Nash, Amare, Pau, Pierce, Joe Johnson, or Bosh over him…
Maybe Duncan or Dirk and even that is tough.
I’m trying hard to think of others, but none come to mind…0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 2:20pm #252976
Russell0WestbrookParticipantEveryone says he can only score and is not a complete player that he doesnt rebound or pass well which is stupid cuz his rebounds and assists are right there with the top small fowards in the league

R-Dot-13ParticipantI would take Lebron over him.
Thats it.
Durant is good now, and in the future.
If I had Durant, I wouldnt trade him for anybody, too much talent, and he can only get better.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 3:10pm #252989
Russell0WestbrookParticipantThanks but the truth be told I would take him over anybody right now because of his age and skills. I know Lebrons the better player but Durant lets other guys play their games also and he’s not a point foward so he doesnt have the ball all the time. The main thing he is 21 and only getting better and making his teammates better. This guy is top 5 easy and even tho they arent saying it Portland is kicking thereself for picking Oden over him. Imagine him and Roy together. CRAZY

IndianaBasketballParticipantDurant is a great scorer and very good rebounder, but he doesn’t have the ability to create plays for his teammates. He lacks that court vision. I used to criticize his defense, but he’s improved a little this season. He still has a ways to go when it comes to defending the ball, but as he gets stronger, he should become a good defender. I think he has a complete offensive game, but he’s not a complete nor all-around player yet.
Another knock I have on him is his clutch play. He hasn’t really delivered consistently for his team during late game situations this season.
I think the sky is the limit for him though. I don’t think he’ll be better than LeBron anytime soon (he lacks that court vision LeBron naturally has), but I think he can be the 2nd best player in the league in a few seasons… Especially as he gets stronger. I mean, he’s only 21 and is going to keep getting better. He’s definitely a superstar already.
Westbrook on the other hand… He has a bright future, but he has more work to do. He’s still a sub par below 40% shooter… He’s improved, but is still turnover proned and can be out of control. He still makes questionable decisions and takes questionable shots… In my opinion, he’s still more of a slasher than a point guard, but he’s improved this season.

DanEboyParticipantDurant over LeBron?! C,mon, thats crazy talk. LeBron is, what, 25? He is still getting better himself.
