You seriously weren't impressed by "The Show Stopper?" You're a tough dude to please lol. I'm not the biggest DeRozan fan either, but that impressed me.
And you have a point about the lob passer... Griffin brought Davis and he was terrible.
It was a really nice dunk. But it wasnt a GREAT dunk. It was like "woah, hes athletic", but it wasnt as creative or involve as much complexion as some of the other dunks.
And im just saying, the lob passsers always blow. It probably has something to do with the fact players are never normally asked to throw those types of passes. Regardless if its Jason Kidd or Eddy Curry throwing the pass.
Derozans first dunk was so underrated. No ones ever done that before and its 10 times harder than that peice of shit dunk griffin did. Griffin got a 46 for a side of the back board windmill which has been done before, and derozan only got a 44 for a alleyoop thru the legs off the support beem behind the net? Just plain garbage. Derozan shouldve been in the finals and he probably couldve won it easy because he was saving his creative dunks for the finals. Griffin didnt deserve to be in the finals at all. If the judging made more sense and the contest werent rigged for someone like griffin to easily win this contest wouldve been one of the best of all time.
People need to take a chill pill regarding Ibaka. Dude did not get robbed of anything. The free throw line dunk was EASY for him and required no effort. He didn't even dribble the ball which made it even more boring.
His blew the second dunk by missing it the first time. If you see the maintenance guys come out with the ladder twice in one dunk, then it's a fail.
Do ppl not realize Ibaka took off from further behind the line than anybody? Thats the reason it did not look as good as it could have been. MJ and Dr J freethrow dunks were closer and they both got 50s
wait...so he loses points in a DUNK contest for not dribbling the ball before a dunk attempt?
The maintenance only came out once.. I don't remember them coming out twice.
I only watched the replay of the dunk.....Did they bring out the basket with the doll attached initially?
They put it up the first time during the commercial break. You're going to criticize the dunk contest when you didn't even watch it? SMH...
i was busy changing my kids diaper at that particular dunk. calm the f**k down.
I wish we could just have these 4 dunkers go at it next year wth maybe Westbrook and Howard (since its in Orlando) added lol. Screw LeBron. Let these 4 dunkers have a rematch add 2 more dunekrs and make it longer.
I obviously overreacted out of anger for the fact that the contest was fixed, but all Im saying is the NBA would be fine if they just let the dunkers go at it and not edit things. When you try to make the contest perfect mistakes happen, the people in charge need to just let whatever happens happen, and stop tryin to control everything. If Ibaka or Derozan advanced with McGee it wouldve been much more entertaining, if the NBA didnt suggest for him to bring out some retarded chior and a car to jump over, and just told him to do a dunk it wouldve been much better.
They need to just let it happen not script it.
THIS SLAM DUNK CONTEST WAS EXTREMELY CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT.
No. LeBron needs to get his ass in the dunk contest and give the fans what they want to see.
First off I'm mad I'm late to this disscussion but this one was hell of a contest. I think Blake won it fair and square just based off of the amount of times it took McGee to slam down some of his dunks, which took the novelty away. Ibaka, for one did get cheated on his first dunk. But that second dunk was stolen from McGee, and it lost its novelty after the miss. If he would have made that off the first try, Griffin probably wouldn't have made it. As far as the 2nd round goes, Blake Griffin to me did beat McGee. One, his elbow in the rim dunk off that backbaord bound was nasty. To me it was even more impressive considering he had to catch the ball. 2nd, after the whole show with the car (to which he was smart for jumping over the hood, considering no one should want to see him potentially kill himself) and the choir, you could see that McGee packed it in. And on another side not, Griffin needs to thank Kenny Smith by leaps and bounds, because Kenny did one hell of a job selling each and every one of his dunks. Kenny got the crowd behind him even more to the point that you just knew he was going to win.
P.P.S: Who ever wasn't impressed with the Show Stopper, needs to watch that dunk in slow motion 100x.
