417basketballfanParticipantI’ve been very impressed with drummonds post game with his hook shots. Does Drummond normally hit these shots or is he just getting lucky.

Magic JordanParticipantOne of the few players that in my opinion could flip small upside down, IF he could hit his free throws. He’s great at defending in space for someone his size. But the fact that he is the worst free throw shooter ever limits his impact.
I can shot 36% from the FT line with my eyes closed. This has been confirmed.

GBeeParticipantNah he sucks in the post.
Shot 39.6% in post up situations
.73 points per possession
38% score frequency (% of possessions the player or his team scores at least 1 point)
Compared to the rest of the league, he is in the 26.9th percentile in post up situations.
He also sucks defending the post as well. Compare the numbers up there to his defensive numbers in those situations.
Opponents shot 51.8% vs him in the post
.94 points per possession
46.3% score frequency.
32.9th percentile compared to the rest of the league.

phila9012ParticipantHis free throw percentage hurts him because if he is ever going to get off a decent shot the other team can foul him. They can also play more physical defense on him because there is no downside to fouling him because of his free throw shooting.

GBeeParticipantThat would help, but his touch is also poor from the floor as well as evidenced by his FG% in post up situations. He’s just not a respectable post up player in any way. The defense has so many options against him posting with none of them being bad. Play him straight up he sucks, foul him, throw a double at him and laugh as he tries to "read" the defense, etc. Even watch him when he’s really determined to post. He just follows the ball so if he doesn’t get it he’s doing nothing but clogging driving lanes. He has no concept of ball-reversal or strong/weak side.

GBeeParticipantThe numbers don’t back that up at all. The amount of touches has increased but the efficiency is still piss poor.

r377ParticipantHe has been working on his hook shot since last year and it is improving. I dont’ know why all centres don’t work on their hook shot, its one of the easiest shots to make in close.
Ive watched a dozen pistons games this season, I am almost going to say I think his left handed hook shot has gone in more than his right handed hook shot from what I have seen.
He still doesn’t get the ball inside enough. With this small ball fad he should be able to get great post position, which he has exploited kevin love so far in the Cleveland series. Also with them hacking him, he can get opponents bigs into foul trouble….
It is important he works on his hook shot and they give him the ball down low. Being a semi decent threat down low helps create space for his teammates for the 3 ball

BiggysmallsParticipantHis post game looks so unnatural. He shoots a hook shot but it looks more like he’s shot putting it than actually shooting. There’s no touch to it. He also doesn’t take good hook shots, they aren’t after a dribble and jump stop or from a strong athletic position, he just kind of spins around and flings it up.
I’m going off what I’ve seen in the two games in the playoffs and the limited times thye’ve been on National TV, so maybe he’s much better than what I’ve seen but if I had to describe what it looks like, I’d use the word "unnatural"
Then there’s his free throw shooting…it just baffles my mind how someone can’t at least shoot in the low 60s from the FT line.
