cafgyg232322afaParticipantI think they want to prove, not only to the rest of the league, but to our team that they can play and they want to fit in. There are a lot of veteran guys, we have a good mix of young guys who are hungry and want to get better, but we also have some veteran guys that also want to win.”

y3koayouParticipant“He’s very talented, I like how he plays,” Gordon said. “He has a nice jump shot that was different than when you’ve seen from him in college and he’s a big time shot-blocker. He’s everything that you hear about and I think he’ll be fine once the season starts.”

y3koayouParticipantIt’s been a rough go for Rivers early on as he tries to adjust to the NBA game after spending a season at Duke. That being said, working on his game has been the main agenda for the 20-year-old, who figures to play a prominent role in the Hornets’ backcourt this season.

y3koayouParticipantAs we know, once the Knicks relentlessly unleashed Novak on the league, he continued draining threes and giving opposing defenses fits. He finished the 2012-13 campaign averaging a career-high in scoring and led the entire league in three-point percentage (47.2 percent), connecting on 133 of the 282 three-pointers he attempted.L:”L

y3koayouParticipantFrom out of the league, to a stint in the D-League, to waiver-wire fodder, to a key contributor on a playoff team, to a lucrative long-term contract… all within eight short months.
Despite his success last season, and his freshly inked multimillion dollar contract, Novak was adamant in declaring his belief that continued success would only result if he approached each practice and each game as if his NBA livelihood was still on the line.jfjh656565

y3koayouParticipantIn addition, Novak also acknowledged that he’d have to continue to improve and expand his game if he wanted to be effective in the future.
“I think defenses are going to know my strengths and run me off the three-point line and do that kind of thing,” Novak explained. “This summer, I definitely put an emphasis on being able to put the ball on the floor. One or two dribbles, using my shot fake more; just understanding how defenses are going to play me.;/kl;lj

baozaokeParticipant“I thought he did OK,” Carlisle said. “He’s a really good offensive player around the basket. Defensively, there are some things we have to work with him on. In the pick-and-roll defense, he tends to stay back and zone up and our coverage is more aggressive. It’s a mindset; just something he’s got to get use to, but he did some good things.”
