draft/free agent combo and trades

what if okc takes thabeet and signs mcgrady (healthy) or ben gordon? sacramento or memphis getting griffin and signing marion? Clippers drafting rubio and trading cancer baron davis.... i wanna hear what you think would be a great combo of drafting and signing of free agents this offseason. what would be the best trades if the draft worked in favor of the lower teams.

thoughts

1. idk if T-macs a free agent but a westbrook-Gordon-Durant-Green-Thabeet team would be very good not to mention young
2. The kings arent gonna sign marion as a. they are rebuilding and b. they have kevin martin
3.If the clipps could tradr Davis they would but he has a huge contract

as for my trades i think the Nets should draft a SG(gerald henderson) and try to trade Vince Carter he may be old but he is still very good, a good teamate, and he has a passion to win a ring, He could land with Chicago who has 2 1st rounders plus are losing gordon and maybe heinrich or maybe even OKC which would turn them into a playoff lock

also the knicks should be a big player if jordan hill falls to them they could sign him then trade him and Eddy Curry(while paying half of his salary) to a team like portland or detroit seeing as they both need toughness and both have boatloads of draft picks

combos

at first glace the gordon signing sounds good but i think that one b asketball cannot keep all four of them happy. and with thabeet i like how he has progressed since his freshman year and will turn out to be halfway decent if the right team drafts him like the thunder. the thunder need to take advantage of teams that are struggling with the cap and make some trades for the players that they need. like they tried with chandler (i think it was a good thing that they did)

bulls trade deng and one of their picks to portland for outlaw and przybilia......then trade tyrus thomas the other pick and a future one, plus a expiring contract like tim thomas or miller to toronto for bosh/ or pheonix for stoudmire

OKC is too smart to touch

OKC is too smart to touch Knee-Mac with a ten-foot poll. How many teams in the NBA would even take him for free? Besides he isn't a free agent and his inefficiency/selfishness would drag the whole team down.

One trade I like is between Washington and Minnesota. Washington has said that if they don't get a top-two pick that they will look into trading it.

To Minnesota from Washington: Top 5 pick, Andray Blatche, Darius Songaila, DeShawn Stevenson

To Washington from Minnesota: Mike Miller, Craig Smith, Rodney Carney

Washington with Arenas, Miller, Butler, Jamison and Haywood would be a top-four team in the East. They would have Mike James, Nick Young, Dominic McGuire, Craig Smith, Etan Thomas and Javale McGee off the bench. But another reason to do this is that they would lose all three of the bad contracts on the team. After next season, if they choose, they could dump everybody on the team except for Arenas, Butler and Jamison.

Minnesota loses some talent and takes some bad contracts but they have a brilliant opputunity to add the final pieces to the puzzle with a combination of Rubio, Griffen, Thabeet, Hill, Jennings, Harden or DeRozen. They would also have two other first round picks. With players like Love, Jefferson, Brewer, Foye and Gnomes already in place, Minnesota could have a chance to make the playoffs next season.

That Minnnesota trade look

That Minnnesota trade look interesting but would Washington pull it off. It would really help Minnesota that is for sure. Also I believe two trade that are being talked about and could happen given the teams state is Utah and Golden State with Kirenlinko going to GS and maybe Utah getting some perimeter players. Also Portland does not need any more young players are looking to add Kirk Hinrich to their line up. I see both of these trades happening especially after the success and lack of success of Chicago and Portland in the playoffs. A B Roy Hinrich back court would be crazy. Also Bulls don't much room for Hinrich as far as minutes so trading him for some more depth and one of Portland's back ups and a pick or so would be wise. I think BD can get traded if you talk with the right teams. There are a lot of players that have huge contracts that want to be moved so maybe it can be a swap of some sort. Also it does not look like Andre Miller will be back in Philly so he could help a team tremendously. Philly might sign and trade for a pick or something.

knee mac

when has he been selfish? hes been saddled wit bums 90% of his career, averages like 6 assists a game and his numbers go up every year during the playoffs? Hes not a free agent but the rockets can't afford him at this point. I say if hes healthy they trade him back to orlando. Since orlando needs a go to guy and even injured tmac can still have clutch moments. He'll cost cheap and their not gonna resign hedo anyway.

and no way the bulls trade tyrus or anything when they just made the playoffs and pushed the celtics. their gonna give that team one more try. If anything they'd trade someone like kirk but they might need him with gordon prolly leaving.

Hmmm

I watched a few OKC games this season and they have a really good defensive energy in their game and I think they want to draft someone that can fit that style. They are also really unselfish, perhaps humbled by their record, but management has done a great job drafting smart, good natured players.

Rubio, Griffen or Harden would be ideal.

Thabeet would fill a need and bring another dimension to their defense.

Hill and DeRozen are nice constellation prizes.

Jennings is the worst they can do, but even he could have a place in Oklahoma City. He might be a little too erratic to be a safe pick, you know?

After these seven players there is a huge talent drop. Evans, Curry and Clark might sneak in there after workouts.

Kirk to the Wolves

How about the timberwolves package their second 1st rounder Mike Miller and Rodney Carney for Kirk Hinrich it will give them the point guard they always needed and give them the oppurtunity to take either Thabeet or Harden with their first pick.
