Charlotte bobcats: they could have easily made it a bidding war between Cleveland and Washington by taking Beal but instead took mkg and a similar player Jeffrey Taylor, Cleveland: instead of building off their solid draft last year they took Dion waiters who’s a mid round talent #4, he’s going to be a bust, Dallas: they traded tyler zeller for 3 picks and instead of taking advantage of it they took guys with low ceilings in jaw Crowder and Bernard James, Houston: if the players they drafted are going to be pieces going to Orlando good, but if not they now have a serious logjam at both forward spots, Denver: they had a chance to snag a good player in Pj3, sullinger, or moultrie instead they take Evan Fournier who is a mid 2nd round pick at best, Phoenix: I understand they need a point guard by taking Kendall Marshall but he is limited athletically and will get torched by Westbrook, Parker, Thomas, and curry on a daily basis

I have to say the Cavs. They ended up taking Waiters too early and also traded for Zeller (3 picks I believe). I feel for the Cavs fans:/

i would take tyler zeller over jared cunnigham, bernard james and jae crowder any day of the week.  zeller looks like a solid pro.  i think his ceiling is rony seikaly and that ain’t not bad.  certainly not bad for a 17th pick.  i’ll be shocked if jared cunnigham, bernard james and jae crowder turn out better than zeller.  cunnigham is a decent enough prospect but nothing we haven’st seen before.  another 6′ 4"-ish athletic 2 guard who may or may not have enough of an all around game to stick in the nba.  we’ve seen this model before and whether they’re named maurice ager, courtney alexander, ricky davis, michael finley or dwyane wade, they’ve had wildly varying degrees of success in the league (hint: i don’t think he’ll be the next d.wade or even michael fins.)  jared cunnigham will, maybe, be a solid rotation guy.  i love everything about bernard james except for the fact that’s he’s older than greg oden looks.  he’s a mature guy who i really want to succeed, but man, he seems like a classic american export destined to play euro ball.  jae crowder is an "interesting" pick.  he’s exactly like a typical joe dumars 2nd round pick.  four year player with a high basketball iq, tenacity, maturity and very little upside.  could be a nice guy in the rotation or someone joining bernard james on a barnstorming tour of the former soviet union.  zeller ain’t flashy.  but i think he can play 10 years in the league and maybe even start a few of them.  do i love him?  hell, no.  because i have a brain and an appreciation for great basketball.  but he can be solid.  and you need solid guys along with all-stars on any successful squad.

dion waiters is really swiniging for the fences.  it’s either going to be a great pick (and dion does have a little d. wade in him.)  or a painful bust.  i don’t think there’s an in-between with that guy.  i think he’ll turn out okay, maybe like a shorter version of demar derozan, primarily because of who’s he’s playing next to i.e. kyrie irving.  i also think irving makes zeller decent as well.  a magic wand i don’t think even a little magician like kyrie irving can wave over the likes of jared cunnigham, bernard james or jae crowder…

Cavs draft was absolutely horrendous, but I would say that the biggest loser was my mock.

Miami is a big loser also in my opinion, they could’ve had Pj3 who would’ve been money coming off their bench imagine him, LeBron, and wade on the fast break, SCARY

Really you have the Wizards as losers for taking Beal over MKG? They would take Barnes before MKG because of value to their team. The Wizards already have 2 defensive effort SF’s in Trevor Ariza and Chris Singleton last years first round pick. Also Vesely can get some time at SF. The Wizards don’t have a starting  SG and have zero perimeter shooting so I don’t understand why Beal wouldn’t be the ideal pick. Anything that keeps Jordan Crawford from being a starter and jacking up 20 shots a game is a positive.

I thought Toronto’s draft was pretty bad.  They added Terrance Ross who is a nice prospect, but I wonder how he’ll really fit into their scheme.  Austin Rivers, a guy who can play a little point, or Jeremy Lamb, who would excell in Dwayne Casey’s defensive scheme, would have made more sense.  If, in fact, DeRozen can slide to the 3 with success it will make more sense, but I still think Ross was a reach.

Then they take Quincey Acy about 15 picks too high.  I don’t see where a 6’6” energy small forward fits in with Amir Johnson, Ed Davis, and James Johnson.

    Also,

I think Houston made a good pick by picking Jeremy Lamb….but, they drafted Royce White and Terrance Jones to put with Pattrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Chandler Parsons and Donatas Montiejunas…where are they going to have room to develop anyone?  They also passed on Tyler Zeller when they’ve been trying to find a center since Yao retired.
