The Scare Crow RisesParticipantA few questions I wanted to get an opinion on 4 weeks before the draft…
What do the Hornets do with the 10th pick?
A. Draft a player to compliment Davis or replace Eric Gordon(Lamb,Rivers, Wroten Jr. or Ross)
B.Trade the 10th pick and Trevor Ariza for an All Star Level Sf(Granger,Deng, Iguadola or Gay)
Bigger Question
What do the Blazers do with the 6th and 11th picks?
A. Draft 2 players to compliment Aldridge and Batum(who could be any combo of the following…Drummond,Robinson,Beal,Barnes Rivers,Lamb,Wroten Jr.,Sullinger, Leonard, Henson, Zeller, Lilliard, Marshall, PJ3, T.Jones or T.Ross)
B. Trade the 6th and/or 11th pick for an All Star Level Player at any position other than Sf and Pf
(example) The Blazers trade the 11th pick and Wes Mattews to The Hornets for Eric Gordon(who then agrees to a S & T)
The Hornets get to draft Anthony Davis 1st overall and then have the 10th and 11th picks to build a young core around him, Jack, Wes Mattews, Ariza and Okefor (any combo of guards or fowards could be availble at 10 and 11, they get a chance to take a risk and play it safe(Marshall and Tony Wroten Jr.???) they could even take two of Davis’s former teamates Teague and Terrence Jones, who I feel have great potential even though they’re rated lower at the present time) Hell 2 players nobody expects to fall could be there at 10th and 11th and they could cash in very quickly…
The Blazers would leave the draft with The 6th overall Pick and Eric Gordon
They could pick any of the following to surround Alridge, Batum and Eric Gordon with the 6th pick
(MKG, Drummond, Robinson, Beal, Barnes, Sullinger, PJ3, Henson, Zeller, Lilliard, Lamb, Leonard, Marshall, Rivers, T.Wroten Jr., T.Ross or T.Jones)…

TyroberParticipant11th and Matthews are definitely not worth Eric Gordon. You’ll never pry Gordon away with that package. You probably have to start with the 6th, 11th, and Matthews to even get the Hornets to pick up the phone.

MKG_AllDayParticipantI really think getting Anthony Davis helped Eric Gordon to re-consider staying and with the tenth pick of the draft they really don’t need a small foward they need someone like Kendall Marshall

HitsterParticipantI would feel that teams like Indianna, Memphis and Philly etc would not particularly want to take on Trevor Ariza and may look for a higher pick in exchange for their best player. If Portland put the 6th pick into play then some of the above could bite.
With Ariza being mentioned and I wonder if Pau Gasol could somehow come into play if the Lakers decided to freshen things up, Okafor, Ariza and 10th pick for Gasol and say Jordan Hill would balance out quite well.
This way NOH have Gasol and Davis as their frontcourt which would surely persuade Eric Gordon to stay. Ariza played for the Lakers before and they would have liked to retain him, Kobe would know his game and he’d give them another option to MWP at SF or he’d be atop bench guy. Okafor would expire at the same time as Kobe and would give the team a good defensive option at PF as well as useful points. The Lakers will also get their hands on the 10th pick where they couldget a shot at Terence Ross. Perry Jones, Austin Rivers etc. They get a young prospect in maybe at SG, this guy has Kobe to mentor him and can take some of Kobe’s minutes to ease his workload or they take a young big maybe Henson, Perry Jones etc who could be a building block alongside Bynum going forward and give them a long term frontcourt.

sheltwon3ParticipantJack is not so bad that they need to take another point guard unless he is quicker and a better shooter than Jack. Lillard will not be available at 10 so if I was them, I grab a 2 guard and use that and let Gordon go. Gordon is looking to get paid and may be too costly. This draft is packed with shooting guards. I would take my chances. Also signing and trading Gordon could be a solid option as well which could add another piece. Do Bulls have enough to get him in a sign or trade.

CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipantI like what MKG All Day said. They need to take a strong look at Kendall Marshall with the 10th pick. A pass first point who can score when needed and set up EG. EG could be top 5 in the league in scoring with a point like Kendall Marshall. I think that would entice him to stay around. Quick question though….what are the Hornets going to do with Kaman and Okafor? Which one do you think they will keep to pair with Davis?

aamir543ParticipantIf I were New Orleans, I’d give PJ3 a strong look if he were still on the board. He would be in a no pressure situation, he has EJ and Davis who are both expected to produce, his ahtleticsim and versatility combined with that of Davis’, that’s a scary combo.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantimo that trade makes sense for both teams the pacers could slide george too 3 and adding gordon at the 2 too compliment the inside prescence of hibbert would be very nice granger provdies the solid 3 the hornets need and him and ad are a very nice tandem at the ten id take the best available 2 guard too try and replace gordon

phila9012ParticipantI think the 11th and matthews is a fair trade for gordon, they could do a sign and trade. If gordon wants to leave he can, so if the hornets could get that for a player who could leave, it wouldnt be too bad.
