Lotto StudParticipantAccording to many projections, Markelle Fultz is a lock for being selected #1 overall, which leaves the #2 pick a big deal if Josh Jackson is selected by Los Angeles instead of the early favorite in Lonzo Ball. What I would like to know now is will the Sixers pass on Ball at #3 and consider Dennis Smith Jr., De’Aaron Fox or possibly swap picks with the Kings so that they can take their guy in Fox, while the Sixers tab Malik Monk at #5?
There are so many unanswered question if Josh Jackson goes to the Lakers. What are your thoughts on the top 5 selections if the first two picks are Fultz and Jackson?

HobbyOGParticipantI think the Kings will move up and sixers move down. Kings really want a PG like Fox. I don’t see the Lakers passing on Ball.

EndlessknightParticipantHow much would the Kings be willing to give up to move 2 places?

SpartanGloryParticipantIf Jackson goes 2 to LA, I think the sixers stand at 3 and take Fox. Colangelo had already stated that Ball’s group has presented "challenges" to drafting him, so I think they steer clear of big daddy Lavar and take the player who probably has more upside anyway. Also, I don’t think the sixers want to trade down in a top heavy draft, and the kings don’t want to trade 2 for 1 picks when their cubbord is pretty bare all over. Assuming Jackson goes at 2, the top 5 will be:
1. Fultz
2. Jackson
3. Fox
4. Ball
5. Smith

Lotto StudParticipantI like your top 5, but I would rather see Dennis Smith Jr. in Philly if they are considering any PGs.

nill650ParticipantIf Fultz and Jackson go 1 & 2, ( the top 2 players on Philly board) then they have a tough decision about keeping the pick.
Do they just take their 3rd guy in Monk at 3 and roll with it, or would they be smarter trading down to 5 & 10 where in 90% of all scenarios Monk is still there, in 95% Smith is there and in 100% of all scenarios if Ball was taken at 4 and Fox was taken at 3 by Sac who has Fox at the top of there board and the reason they just traded up barring some miracle trade for Fultz… They’ll have the choice of Monk or Tatum or Smith at 5 , at least two will be there even if Phoenix goes Tatum at 4. Then you also have the option of Ball at 5. Can’t lose there.
They almost have to trade down if they get 5 & 10. The odds are also good at 10 they get a impact player that is at minimum a longterm starter in the league.
If Jackson is still on the board though at 3, they are not trading down in most situations, he is too good to pass on.

binetParticipantIf Ball slides to 3, I think the Kings offering 5&10 for 3 might become a reality. Or 3+Okafor but whatever.
It makes sense for Philly to trade down if they feel the right pick for them is among Smith, Ntilikina or Monk, three players unlikely to be taken by the Suns. The 10th pick for Okafor would solve that dilemma and allow them to grab another lottery talent, this time more of a fit than Jah.
The Kings young core should be one to play with Ball, with Hield and Labissiere in particular, and possibly Bogdanovic coming over. Getting Jahlil instead of a BPA at 10 who would very likely have been a big anyway (Markannen? Collins?) is not really a fit but they could be high on him or think they need a big who is a focal point on O after Cousins trade.
The Kings need a PG, a face of the franchise and a team identity. With Ball they get all 3, at least on paper. That’s a deal they should consider.
