OhCanada-ParticipantWho are some stashed talents that maybe on their way to the NBA next year. I know Utah owns the rights to both Barcelona C’s Tomic and Pleiss and can hypothetically bring them both over this year but is more likely to bring over Pleiss.
Sergio Llull should be going from Real Madrid to Houston which could be the perfect backup to Beverly.
Who are some other guys that may come over?

Gonda15ParticipantI honestly don’t see either coming over for the Jazz. I believe the Jazz may trade the rights to Tomic during the Draft

Numbers_CruncherParticipantNemanja Bjelica is looking for a 3 yr 15million deal with the Wolves. He could be traded, though.

FrozetoesParticipantThere’s been a lot of talk in Minny about bringing over Bjelica, either to join the team or trade. You get the feeling that Anthony Bennett could be on the move. The front court is getting really crowded, especially if Garnett signs with the team. My opinion is that Payne has all the skills to become a starting PF, so Bjelica could be a nice guy off the bench.

Bed HeadParticipantAllowing him to be a primary playmaker (a la Kukoc) without being exposed defensively.
Not feeling him in Minnesota, though. As a "cagey veteran" (I think he’s, like, 27), Bjelica might be better suited/more useful to a playoff-type team, imo.

European BasketballerParticipantPleiss is not coming to the NBA next season. He already signed a contract with Bayern Munich. As for Tomic, I honestly have no idea, but both Barca and CSKA are offering him contracts, which I am sure is much more money than anything the Jazz are offering him.
CSKA is offering him a 3 year $20 million contract.
Lull is going to Houston? How could that be? Unless the Rockets dumped a bunch of salary, he is definitely not going to Houston. Do you have any idea how much players in Euroleague make? The Rockets could in no way in hell afford to pay Llull unless they got way under the salary cap.

OhCanada-Participant3 yr $20-Mil? That seems hard to believe. Do you have a source. I thought the top players in Europe make 3-4 Mil.
Tibor Pleiss denied all Bayern Munich rumours claiming he is happy with Barcelona.

European BasketballerParticipantYou thought wrong. Top players in Europe make $8 – $10 million in how NBA counts salaries. Salaries in Europe are net income. They are not gross income like in USA and Canada. They only report the salary as the amount of income that was netted into deposited money right to the bank account. They don’t list the amount of money as a gross income pay that is never actually earned like NBA does. Plus the teams pay all of the taxes for the players, pay the agent fees for the players, and also pay for all of the living expenses, their houses, condos, apartments, their cars.

Mad MaxParticipantRaul Neto, the Jazz have his rights, he was a 2nd rd pick back in 13, I recall reading the Jazz are looking to bring him over this season. I like his game a lot.

sitlbitoParticipantBjelica and Llull I think will come over. Bjelica would fit in great with the T’wolves,a nice passing big who can stretch the floor would be perfect for this team, solid rebounder as well.
Llull in Houston,I like the fit to be honest,38% from three this season,a pretty quick player52% from 2,82% from three and 6 assists in 28 minutes per game. A solid play-maker overall, with a tenacious defense.
Walter Tavares would help the Hawks immensely on defense,he’s a great rebounder and rim protector, exactly what they need. I’m not sure about his offense though.

Bed HeadParticipantThough Gobert fell in the draft due almost entirely to Francophobia (pure and simple). While there really are, however, legit concerns over Tavares’ translation to the NBA. IMO, the two aren’t even in the same stratosphere potential-wise.
Say, for example, we were to compare them to garden insects. Gobert is long, slender and graceful … not unlike a praying mantis. Tavares, on the other hand, would be more of a banana slug.

sitlbitoParticipantI don’t think there’s Francophobia whatsoever. I’m french, and although it’s true that some of the french players are underrated come draft time(Batum 24th,Gobert 27th,) I think french players are pretty well-liked around the league. There was an article here about young players saying how many calls their parents got from NCAA teams,so they’re followed very closely.
Now back to the point,Gobert was born in 1992…same as Tavares. So if you compare both players don’t compare them what Gobert does today to what Tavares will do. You have to compare them both on what they’re doing today.Tavares isn’t as explosive and mobile as Gobert. Gobert was underrated because some scouts thought he should post 20and 12 in the french league as a 20 year old,but it’s a competitive league.

European BasketballerParticipantI don’t believe all this nonsense from Rockets stuff about Llull. He has never been a point guard ever. He has always been a shooting guard with a good handle, and now they are supposed to give him $18 millions, and yes that is probably what it would cost to cover his salary and buyout, to make him their point guard? This makes no sense to anyone with common sense.

HitsterParticipantLivio Jean-Charles who the Spurs drafted in 2013 with 29th pick might be worth looking out for as the Spurs tend to draft these Euro Stashers so well.
I don’t see the Jazz bringing over both Tomic and Pleiss personally, maybe one of them.
Rumours that Fran Vasquez will come over to Orlando arte still unconfirmed ! (only been waiting a decade)

European BasketballerParticipantSome reports are claiming Tomic does not want to play in CSKA (of course as is normal, many players don’t like to play in Russia, which is why they have to pay so much for all players anyway), and that he will re-sign in Barca, as he does not want to play with the Jazz. From what rumors said he will re-sign in Barca soon for same amount Jazz offered ($13.5 million) and will never go to NBA.
