So Doncic has been chosen as the MVP of the Euroleague Final Four while his team of Real Madrid has won the Final.

    He ended up with averages of 15.5pts on 40% fg, 30% 3pt, 5rbds 3as 2.5tos 1stl and 0.5blk.

Having watched both games, you can’t deny that Doncic’ level of maturity is incredible for someone his age, maybe the best player his age over the last 20 years in the Euroleague. Yet, Doncic was far from perfect, forcing the issue several times on penetrations, settling also for step back threes that didn’t really go in, which can make you wonder about his room of improvement.

Doncic is crafty, can handle the ball well but you can see that his lack of athleticism will probably prevent him from being as dominant as some may think.

Athleticism will surely be a problem for him, but I think the real question is about his shooting.
If he improved his shooting enough I think he can be a lethal scorer, a floater will help him too.
But if he failed to do so -with his lack of great athleticism- he will likely struggle.
Some rumors that Kings and Hawks might pass on him, though I am not buying it.

It seems like alot of People think he Will be a Sure Fire Organization Changer from day one.

I really like Hezonja a couple years back and he just now is starting to show flashes of his potential consistently. But then you look at Gallinari, Bargnani, Dragic even Nowitzki it took them all time to adjust to the NBA. I think people are falling in love with his Accolades and putting to much pressure on him.

I don’t think he will be a 30ppg superstar, but i reckon he will be 20-5-5.

A bit like Oladipo and Otto Porter, he is quite a safe pick, his bust appeal is low

but defensively he will never be at the level of Porter or Oladipo, two very good defensive players..

I don’t doubt he will impact very positively the team that will select him, but do you pick him in the top two?

Ayton is a bit more of a risk, I think if you take Doncic or Bagley at no2 you have to be happy.

It would like being given keys to a Ferrari or a Porsche –  You can’t lose either way.  You gotta be happy if your Sacramento or Atlanta.

I actually really like Doncic in Sac. Both on and off court he can be good and start to change that franchise around.  The kings would also get more following and interest (merchandise) from Europe.

Did you not see DeAndre Ayton play? He was an absolute beast, dominating on the glass, rejecting shots, slamming home put back jams…You don’t pass on 7’0” 260 with a jumper, youth, athleticism, potential and a head screwed on straight

Okafor was "cant miss" too. You pass if you think another prospect is assured of giving you an outcome you are happy with and you dont want to take the risk.

Exactly right.  Last year about 90% of kids on here would of taken Fultz with the first pick. I would of taken Josh Jackson.

A few drafts ago, Nerlens Noel and Ben Mclemore were the favourties by quite a few on here – I would of take Otto Porter or Oladipo with the “safe picks”.

Ayton isn’t great defensively, he can rebound and is athletic enough.  He has size and strength advantage in college, but will not have that advantage in the pros.  Good jump shot. Arizona had a decent team, why did he not lead them deeper in the NCAA tournament. Ewing and Olajuwon lead their NCAA teams

Doncic is 19 dont forget. I think he’ll be the best player in the draft but i also think he’ll be getting called a mistake at 21-22. I hope he goes to the right situation.

Okafor was considered a can’t miss Scorer or Offensive player but unfortunately at Center you just can Not hide a Defensive Liability like you can at other positions b/c Cente ri sthe last line of Defense & scouts Worried about this All the way back to High School w/ Jahlil Okafor. (He def was the #2 prospect in 2015 Draft for most of that year so I am Not criticising you in any way)

The actual scouting report on Okafor coming out of High School was one of the Most accurate I have Ever seen. I’ll paraphrase & you can look this up for yourself

"Jahlil Okafor has one of the most advanced low post games for a high school player in 20 years & he will dominate at the NCAA level. But I have Serious concerns about the ability for Okafor’s game to translate to the NBA. Because Okafor is a BELOW the RIM player (He’s at most 6’10” & has limited athletic ability eg not an explosive leaper) there is a Strong chance he could struggle to Defend the Rim & / or Rebound at the NBA level & even though Okafor will def score at the NBA level Rim Protection & Rebounding are the Minimum teams Expect from Centers in the Modern NBA."

Any comparison to Okafor w/ Ayton is way off base

As far as Doncic, I think Khaled nailed it above w/ his post. Yes Athleticism is a big concern w/ Doncic but the fact that he is not a very good shooter is the Major concern b/c we have seen players like Steff Curry & Jason Tatum to name just two who are not whatr we would consider freak athletes but b/c they are such dangerous shooters it forces the Defender to get up on them as close as possible which gives these players the ability to dribble penetrate even though thru college & high scholl this was not a raw skill displayed.

Being a 3 level scorer solves a Lot of other deficiencies & Doncic was a 33% shooter from 3pt range in Europe & compared to the NBA that League looks like slow motion so it will only get harder in the NBA

Its unbelievable the amount of disrespect Doncic gets on here…he is all of 19 years old – I REPEAT – 19 years old!

I won’t say he’s totally dominating the Euro competition, but he is without a doubt one of if not THE best player overseas already at his young age. Knocking his athleticism? He’s a teenager and he’ll grow into his body, trim whatever fat he has and gain muscle and explosion. The fact he’s doing what he’s doing without elite measurements or physical ability shows how high his skill level is, and to imagine what it will be once he hits his prime is scary.

Lonzo Ball was picked 2nd last yr, and Doncic is a similar but far superior prospect IMO. If his floor is Toni Kukoc, his ceiling is Penny Hardaway with LeBron IQ level

He is seriously disrespected by alot of Americans.  For instance this site has had him at no 4 and 5 for most of the year.  Me and quite a few other international posters on here have talked him up for the past 12 months.

I wrote a topic on him being the best euro prospect ever.  That doesn’t mean he will be better than Dirk or Zinga but he is the BEST PROSPECT to ever come out of europe.  What he has done at his age has never been done before…

His main position is PG, to me he is ver much like a bigger Gary Payton on offense!
