You can see he is really tired though, plus it is just one workout, I wouldn’t judge him for that. Although his free throw shooting % scare me.

it looks amazing….ly gay/stupid/bad, maybe that’s why he was shooting terrible.

I felt kinda bad for Motie, having so many people watching him workout must be rough, especially on a shooting drill, given he’s a 7-footer, even if it is one of his strengths.

He was probably just really nervous. All eyes were on him and he was by himself. I wouldn’t put too much into this workout.

He’s never been a dead eye shooter he’s just incredibly skilled with his passing, underrated post game, and ability to knock down any shot, although he’s not consistent. As a shooter think of him as a Lamar Odom type, capable of knocking down any shot but doensn’t do it consistently. He’s not in that Bargnani/Galllo mold of dead eye shooters, he’s more like Yi but with more toughness. He’s a real PF not one of these tweener tall SF types.

If he is nervous because there are so many people watching him, then he WILL be a guaranteed bust.
An basketball player (not even an nba player) must have composure. If he’s nervous with 50 scouts watching him in a single person workout whats gonna happen when its the playoffs with 17,000 fans in the stadium and millions of people around the world watching your every move? or when its clutch time? is he gonna get nervous then?

That being said, i think it was just a bad day. &i Agree with Ghettosermon(nice name btw)

I do not know. He seemed tired, he was not using his legs well on his shot, you could tell when it was going in or not. Plus, I heard the gym was hot as hell, and the ball got sweaty. Even so, not even using that as an excuse, it has to be so hard to tell when these guys are shadowboxing, one good or bad day and you could be getting way less or more than you bargained for.

Travis Diener, who was an amazing shooter in college and like, never missed an FT, I remember seeing him workout when I was court side at a Blazer game and being like, "How is this guy in the NBA?". He was shooting incredibly inconsistently, but I know that as someone who plays basketball, like I am sure all of you do as well, you have good and bad days. I think these one on none workouts tell you incredibly little, and I think actual interviews and meetings you have with these guys tell you more than these workouts. Odds are, you have seen a bunch of game film and seen them in person multiple times and you just kind of want to see how seriously they take it. We’ll see where the chips fall, but regardless, think he and Biyombo are not going to be waiting too long in the Green Room.

@StF616; there’s a big difference when you’re not competing to win, you’re being analysed on just practice and hitting shots in an unrealistic situation. Also, basketball is a team sport, the support of your team protects you from that individual scrutiny because you’re playing for something bigger than yourself. Michael Jordan even talked about how hard it would be to do something like Olympic track running because it would be so hard being out there by yourself. This is coming from MJ. I wouldn’t worry too much, the nerves just got to him, there was a lot of pressure for him to perform, and hey, maybe he tanked too for all we know?

All of the Euros minus Kanter (and possibly Biyombo) will be busts.

After watching a lot of footage on Jan, Jonas and this kid, I wouldn’t pick any of them at any point in any first round. Vesely has freakish height and impressive leaping ability for a 3. But he has very slow feet, a possibly uncorrectable bad shot and hands of stone. Jonas is big and works hard. That’s it. He’s a bean pole and is almost never dominant. I think he’s more likely than not to never become a polished big. Donatas is better than Jan/Jonas imo, but as you can see in the video, he tires easily and is just another Euro big that can’t play inside the perimeter. The teams that draft any of these guys will regret it.

That said, Kanter could be a productive starting 4 or 5 from day 1. He’s an average athlete with above average size for either position and he’s extremely polished.

Biyombo has absolutely no offensive game, but he could be a disruptive force against a team with high-scoring bigs. I think he’d be an ideal fit for the Suns or Knicks. He’d help them survive against Spurs, Lakers, etc. due to his D and he’d be able to run the floor and get dunks.  He’d die in a system that runs long offensive sets.

If the mavs win the ‘ship this year you know every team will feel atleast a little pressure to take a euro big that has some semblance of shooting form…. "riding the dirk wave".. personally dirk is one of my favorite nba players, he may be one of a kind for a long time..

I know it is just one workout, but that is just downright scary. I was high on Montiejunas, now I am scared. I have seen him in the lottery mocks of the last 3 draft, 2009, 2010, and now this year. He has slipped a bit, an this is a weak draft. I suddanly want the Warriors to pick one of the Morris twins. I am now llonger a believer. If it was from three pointers, I could care less. But routine jumpers, I wish him the best of luck, hes gonna need it.

Jordan was nervous when he first got to college and playe din a game, same with Magic johnson. Do i think he will be as good as those two legends?.No but it shows you that just because you are nervous in workouts it doesn’t mean you will be a bust

I wouldnt read to much into the guy missing his jump shot.  He just look like he did some kind of workout before hand.  When looking at the foregin players you have to keep in mind that they are not NBA ready right off the bat.  Most of the players are very young and need more playing time on their current teams to develop.  If your a NBA GM and want to draft a foregin player you either have to endure the growing pains in the NBA or keep him overseas for 2 years and let him develop.
