So we have our first big trade of the season and it is a full on Championship contender making improvements.

I ask you what team/who do you think is next?

I figure he will be next too. A couple of playoff teams that could use him and get him in my opinion are Memphis and Washington.

Washington could trade Porter and Seraphin for Green. Green and Pierce can split time playing the 3 and small ball 4, giving the Wizards more options. Boston gets some young guys with potential for less cash.

Memphis can trade Prince, Pondexter, Leuer, and first round pick for Green and Bass (can take out Pondexter and Bass out and it’ll still work). Prince is expiring, Pondexter and Leuer are quality bench guys, and they get that first round pick they want. Memphis finally gets a legit starting 3 since Gay left. Bass, who doesn’t fit with Boston anymore, will take Leuer’s role and more as he’s better, a veteran, and seems like a good fit with the bulky Grizzly frontline.

I think Detroit will cash in Monroe for whatever they can get for him (hopefully a 1st rounder). Reports are saying he will waive his no-trade clause just to get out.

That might be true but his new team will need to know what he thinks about commitment there so basically it’s still in his hands where he goes imo.

But still very likely Monroe, Green and the whole Knicks team is on the block now. Don’t be surprised to see the Clippers doing a move too since they aren’t really clicking and rely on hero ball way to often.

With KDs latest foot injury I would like the Thunder to add a solid veteran wing as a backup in a minor trade as well and they need to make a decision soon on Jackson if they want to avoid a possible very high offer next summer. I hope the keep him and sign him to a reasonable extension. I feel he belongs there but teams like the Magic have a lot of money to spend and this is an appealing situation in Orlando and they are one good PG away from making some noise next year.

If I was a betting man, I’d say either Jeff Green to Washington or Greg Monroe to, well anywhere at this point, are the next big trades we’ll see.
On top of being a great fit with the Wizards, Green is also a Georgetown kid that led the Hoyas to the Final Four so you know he’ll be a fan favorite.
I really would love to see Monroe not get traded and ultimately sign in San Antonio (assuming Tim Duncan retires), but I can’t see Detroit letting him walk for nothing. Phoenix looks like an intriguing option for a trade destination as they have lots of young guys and/or draft picks that they could send to Detroit.

I’m just glad trades like this seem like they’re finally going to start actually happening instead of just being discussed and rumored.

I know markieff morris is playing well, but if they do go after Monroe I wonder if they can do a sign and trade with Goran Dragic ?  Its no secret the Pistons are not happy with Jennings.

Jeff Green.  Washington are log jammed at SF with Pierce, Porter and Webster when he returns. Memphis don’t really have enough young pieces for a trade beside draft picks.  The pistons could use a SF in Jeff Green

The Cavs 29 point loss was yet another reminder that if they dont bring in a defensive presence they’re going to have a tough time getting to the ECF let alone the Finals. What move seems most likely for them?

Rim protector and another Wing player.  Rome was not built in a day they will get one by trade deadline and then the other will co me next season wwith the Free Agency and trades. They have that 10 million Haywood contract thats not guaranteed.

Houston should try and pry Green away from Boston. He could give them a much needed scoring punch off the bench at both forward spots. Idk what Boston would want but they just pretty much gave Rondo away. so maybe they do they same with Green?

Washington have a lot of frontcourt depth so I don’t see them doing too much on that front.

Greg Monroe will always be on the radar as he will likely walk away from Detroit in the summer.

Phil Jackson at the Knicks hasn’t made a move since the summer and has big expiring deals in Bargs and STAT but might be saving cap space for next summer.

Moves are likely to be more complimentary than blockbuster I’d assume as contenders look to add that little edge and lottery teams look to get assets and build long term.
