FUNKYBUNCHParticipantNot sure if anyone posted this already, but Dominic McGuire signs with the Raptors http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/20124655/report-dominic-mcguire-signs-with-the-raptors a good under the radar pick up here imo. This dude can play some D! He will make a guy like LeBron earn every shot. Not the best player in the world, but a gritty, gritty defender. If only his offense were as good as his defense…

steviechillzParticipantgood pick-up for a possible 7th-8th playoff team in the east. McGuire is athletic, hard-working, and is a good role player!

Lil B to GSWParticipantLast year when he was with the warriors he proved that he can and will do anything to get miniutes in the league. His defense was definetly what helped him stand out, he was versitle enough to defend just about anyone from pg to some of the smaller, less talented centers (which lucky for him there is an abundence of at this time) night in and night out. Granted he did play on a sub par team. Glad that he got picked up, disapointed it’s not my warriors but wish him a long career.

niQParticipantI’ll admit I don’t know much about him. Just grazing over stats he reminds me a bit of James Johnson, cept better on the boards. With a PF like Bargnani, he’ll be a welcome to help with the rebounds. If he’s the hard working defender like you guys say he is then I’m more excited about this pick up!

JNixonParticipantMcGuire isnt gonna score much at all and isnt a shooter, but he can defend SG-PF and is a good athlete with length. Nice pickup for defensive purposes.

iguapops420ParticipantBeen a big fan of McGuire since his last year in college. He has a very versatile skill-set both offensively and defensively. He’s overall not a super skilled offensive players, but he is decent enough. Like JNixon said, he’s not really going to score much, and is a worse shooter than Rondo, but he can put points up beside of the right PG. He is a pretty good cutter and and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands where he is a good ballhandler for his size. Was even compared to a poor man’s Pippen coming out of college by a few scouts. Smart pickup by the Raps, but I’m not sure how much burn he will get, or if it was the best team for him to further develop, but a good signing no less.
Not sure about the thinking of The Raptors though, James Johnson played a very good all-around game for them the past year and a half and seemed to be one of their more consistent performers and then they suddenly shipped him out for a second rounder just like the Bulls did.
