Cosbysweater7ParticipantI think they’d go with Sullinger if he’s available

Future_Scouti hate to break it down to everyone but sullinger is not a good compliment to monroe… the guy they are developing around. moultrie has a better mid range to spot up and stretch the floor to compliment. he’s more athletic and finds better cuts to the basket leading to more oops and offensive rebounds.
i personally think they should grab jeremy lamb or terrence ross to play 2/3. but moultrie is a good fit

phila9012Participantthey have a point guard and a big man, which means they need a scoring wing to complement both of them maybe beal or any other wing that is there when they pick

…this was a question directed at the few pistons fans.0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/03/2012 - 11:23am #654975
B FreeParticipantI think Monroe and Moultrie are pretty similar, they both are more offensive orianted players and have a decent array of post moves with a solid midrange game. For both to be successful they need a rebounding defensive bigman by there side.

B FreeParticipantEven this site thinks so if you check out there profiles, and at one point if I remember correct Monroe was called a less athletic Chris Weber/Jermaine O’Neal

Future_Scout^ right, right. i was also thinking henson or leonard. but all in all, moultrie offensive skillset fits monroe and there has been a lot of talk of moultrie going to DET.

juves4783Participanti’m not quite sure why everyone thinks moultrie is lottery bound, besides aran putting him as his 8th best prospect. chad ford has him in the 15-20 range on his mock. i personally think moultrie and sullinger aren’t going to make the lottery. sullinger really struggled against the length of withey and isn’t explosive or athletic. he reminds me of a smaller baby davis. moultrie is quite the mystery. he underperformed at utep against weaker competition and then shined in the sec. i would still take mcadoo, perry jones, andre drummond and john henson before both these guys.

Future_Scoutjuves i’ve BEEN saying sullinger might fall out of the lotto and got mad negs for it. i was one of the first to have him out of my top 5 and even top 10. i’ve been criticizing sullinger all year
i’ve NEVER had moultrie in the lotto btw…. have him going 18 to boston.

B FreeParticipant@ juves I wouldn’t say he struggled, I was a big fan of that UTEP team, he had a different role he averaged around 9pts 7 rebs and 8pts 8rebs. Jackson averaged 25, Cullpeper 17 Streeter 11. The next year they 6 guys including him average 9 points or more. He was younger and thinner then and was never the main guy on teams full of veterans.

F_DA_POParticipantIf draft order is the same as it is on the mock today, I would be really pissed as a Pistons fan. If I were the GM, I would definitely trade up. I feel after the first 6 picks there is too many question mark guys. I would trade into the top 5 (hoping someone wants anyone on the team besides Knight or Monroe). Pistons need Davis, Gilchrist, Robinson, Barnes or Drummond at the worst. I think Beal and Lamb will be good, but Pistons have way too many guards to draft them.
