I’m gonna say NO for this year….

There really are not any ball dominant enough scorers in this years class for it to happen. Last year we had Lillard in a perfect situation in Portland where he could run the show and produce most of the offense. Waiters basically had 15ppg (14.7) but he was a chucker on a bad team.

I’d say the guy with the best chance is McLemore because the Kings suck and they will be trying to get him a lot of shots. Problem is that he doesn’t really create for himself, and there are not too many guys in the league that can crack 15ppg without being able to get their own shot.

The only other guys with a chance, IMO, would be Oladipo and Zeller and I consider them longshots at best. Because both of their teams suck tremendously (expecially the magic) I think Oladipo will be taking more shots than he should be this year since the Magic don’t have a true go-to scorer. I don’t think his offensive game is refined enough for him to be putting up big scoring numbers (yet), however.

Zeller is probably the most NBA ready (offensively) of these guys, but I don’t think there will be enough shots to go around with Kemba and Big Al in the mix.

If I had to guess scoring averages for the upcoming year id say McLemore gets 14 a game (very inefficiently), Oladipo gets about 12 (much more efficiently) and Zeller also gets about 11-12. I could also be completely wrong about all of this since none of them have even played in a real NBA game yet.

I should also mention that I think Bennett has the skill-set to average more points than any of these guys right now, but I don’t think he’ll get the playing time to do it.

Trey Burke has a chance simply because he will run the show in Utah, but I don’t think he will be a big time scorer in the NBA.

Olynyk also has an outside shot because of his versatile offensive game and the celtics lack of scoring options.

Still though, I think all these guys will be around 10-12 ppg as rookies.

MCW is not a good shooter but should get enough minutes to average 15 points and that goes same for Burke.

Bennett is supposed to be back for the regular season and they may try him out at sf which should help him get minutes.

Victor Oladipo should get a ton of minutes because he may be their best defensive player and should score enough to get 15 pt for an Orlando team with no real go to guys.

Zeller should get a lot of minutes playing next to a less selfish Al Jefferson who also helps develop big men.

CJ McCollum has the ability but will probably not get the minutes.

You are right though the majority of the guys in this draft have no shot at averaging 15 points because they will not be in the situation to do and many are still raw.

One of the guys I mentioned will make it to 15 or more or may average 15 if you round their final stats.

I thought about MCW, who i think will have excellent assist numbers, but his scoring ability is way too raw to get 15 a game. I honestly think he’ll be lucky to get 10 a game this year.

CJ could get 15 a game on another team for sure, but he won’t get enough burn sharing time with Lillard.

I see MCW putting up Ricky Rubio type #s….something like 11 PPG and 7APG shooting a hideous 36%. The Sixers will have big time scoring issues so he will get a bunch of shots up and should be able to exceed 10…I wouldn’t put it out of the question to score close to 15 but I would be surprised since he can’t really shoot.

Its been over a decade, since 2000-2001 since no rookie has scored 15 points. And that draft was so below average as a whole, that this class should want no part of that situation.

That being said, how about Olynyk? The C’s are going to need offense, and Olynyk will be given ever opportunity to put up numbers.

had the Blazers not signed Mo williams, McCollum had the abilities to score 15ppg this year I think, but they chose to play him behind Williams and Matthews, so were not going to see alot of him unless Mo Williams breaks his old body, which I hope.

I honestly think it will be Bennett. Think it will be close though. Think he may not get enough time early but will eventually get more and more minutes to where it is possible.

Bennett will probably have a Faried like rookie season, extremely explosive and efficient and getting the rebounds for his mother :).

Where is Bennett going to get the shots? Say he starts at the 3 , he’s probably their 4th option behind Irving, Bynum, and Waiters. Most 4th options are around 12 or 13 ppg scorers and he’s also going to be splitting minutes with Earl Clark.

Regardless of whether Bennet starts or not, I think he’ll get around 25 mpg. Scoring 15 ppg in 25 minutes would put him at a 22 ppg scoring pace per 36 minutes and with the guys around him, I don’t think that will be his role nor do I think he’ll get the kind of shots to do that.

My take is I’m not sure Varejao is there all season. I’m sure they wil be lenient with Bynum and his minutes. I honestly think he can beat out TT for the starting 4 spot sooner or later. I just think of any rookie does it is him because he has the best skillet for it. You are probably right that he won’t but if he doesn’t, I don’t think anyone does.

McLemore would be the logical player to hit 15ppg next season, Trey Burke should get good minutes and could be an option too, other guys like Bennett and Porter may see good minutes but they look to be down their teams scoring options lists.

Oladipo again should see big minutes but I wonder if he will be a volume scorer yet.

McLemore and Oladipo seem to have the best chances to me. They will both get the minutes and probably shots to be in the 13-17 ppg range.

Oladipo is going to get a lot of run, and it appears his shooting stroke improved over the summer. He’s the only rookie I see having a chance to crack 15 ppg.

Fingers crossed but if the entire wolves roster gets injured again Shabazz could put up 15 for at least a couple months.. Unlikely and better not happen.. But looking at past history, it could..

I really believe Olynyk might be the one getting 15 ppg this year. I was shocked when I saw his PER and offensive ratings in the mocks. He is by far the most efficient rookie on the offensive end this year and I see no reason why the Celtics don’t give him the playing time at the 4 and 5 position if he’s healthy. I didn’t buy Olynyk until I saw more of him in the summer league. They said Olynyk played point guard in high school until his junior year when he had a late growth spurt and I was really impressed how comfortable he was bringing up the ball on a fast break or as a fascilator after a defensive rebound. He might have his limitations defensively but he still plays hard nosed and with a lot of heart and energy.

If I had to pick one rookie to score 15+ points next year I go with him. Oladipo is my 2nd choice and the Magic seem to give him a lot of freedom since they played him point guard in summer league. He is good enough on defense to earn him minutes similar to MKG last year and Olidipos shot is >> to what MKG had to offer.
