Can he really survive playing without Nash? Does he understand how extremely rare it is nowadays (combo guard generation) to play alongside a player of Nash’s quality. Has he seen how Marion’s stock has severly plummeted following his departure from the Suns (complaining about wanting to be the man). He went from a top 15 NBA player to a role player. By going to the Knicks, while playing at a similarly uptempo pace, he’ll no longer enjoy the freedom and scoring opportunities that Nash “always” provided for him (because at this stage, the Knicks best bet as their starting point is Felton!). Anyway, Amare’s huge loss is D-Lee’s massive gain (assuming a sign-and-trade occurs between the 2).

A S&T won’t happen because PHX decided to renounce his rights yesterday.

I think that’s a little overblown. Nash is a great point guard- Don’t get me wrong but uh, check his numbers before he went to the Suns. 8 assists then 7 the season before. The system opened him up for those huge assists increase. I believe if the Knicks could find a passing PG, Amare will be alright.

Amare knows how good Steve Nash is. He also knows how old Steve Nash is and how much more money NY is willing to give him than Phx was willing to give him. The guy is not dumb. He’s fine with cashing in and either going to NY and being the man assuming they can’t get anyone else or getting another guy that can help make sure he still gets the ball. It’s obvious Phx has the better team and at the moment the better future, but we’re talking about Amare. If he really cared a lot about winning he would have worked to become a better rebounder and defender. With his athleticism, he should be pulling in double digit rebounds and be a monster on the defensive end. All the guy cares about is scoring and getting paid. He is who he is and he’s the same guy he was since year one in the NBA.

Amare can produce with or without Nash. Amare can still easily be a 20-23 ppg type of guy without him.

If he goes to the knicks they definitely need a good point guard.

Douglas is okay i guess (see him more as a backup) next to a player like Lebron, or Wade, but if they get Johnson, and Stoudemire they need a good passing point guard.

    maybe Parker?

    Stoudemire isn’t Shawn Marion.

Nash has made the game easier for Stoudemire, but let’s kill this thought that his career is going to crumble without Nash. Stoudemire was a beast when Steph was the point guard.

Therevenger threw out Parker as a possibility to New York. What about this deal?

Knicks get: Tony Parker, Roger Mason (re-signed)
T-Wolves get: David Lee (and maybe filler, depending on how much Lee re-signs for)
Spurs get: Al Jefferson, Ramon Sessions

Money works, and everyone wins — NY gets the point guard and another 3-point shooter; MIN gets Lee, who they like but can’t afford after the Darko deal; and SA gets a 20-10 power forward that allows for Duncan to focus on defense/rebounding, much like David Robinson did for him.

    on the matrix for real.

marion was way more than an alley-oop receiver. Nash wasn’t giving him those 2spg, or those 2bpg or those almost 12rpg or knockin down those 3’s. Marion was a monster.

STAT will be alright, the only thing i think that will suffer for real, is his efficiency. He’d have games where he’d have like 38pts (13-14fg, 12-12 ft shooting) in PHX, he’d def have less of those unreal fg% games.

“Amare will be a role player in NY” You gotta be kiddin’ me… Amare will survive without Nash. People act like Nash made Amare.
