Say Kyrie goes out of town, do you think that LeBron follows?

If I were Cleveland I’d be asking for young talent in return for Kyrie as there is growing concern that LeBron won’t sign back on in Cleveland.

I just posted the same thought on the previous thread. I think he has a no trade clause though, no? It makes sense if he’s got a year left cos you can get back a ton, he’s in his 30s and Kyrie is very young.

There is no scenerio where you trade Lebron James if he is willingly playing for your organization. If he wants out you trade him but well hes there just do whatever it takes to make him happy.

If Kyrie wants out you gotta think it’s because he knows Lebron is gone next year.

That doesn’t seem to be the story, though. From what I understand, Kyrie is tired of being second fiddle and wants to go back to being the face of a franchise, like he was before LeBron arrived. If anything, Kyrie’s announcement probably indicates LeBron wants to retire a Cavalier, and Irving doesn’t want to wait that long before he’s handed the reigns.

kiss your hopes of getting James in LA in 18 goodbye.

Irving main reason for wanting a trade is to be "the man" which he will never be in Cleveland, proving Lebron aint going anywhere. Irving signed his extention before Lebron came back to Cleveland as he was sold that the team would be built around a star pg…him. Lebron came back and everything changes over night.

Would a trade of Carmelo + Ntikilina for Irving be a fair deal and enough to keep LBJ happy? If they got D-Rose as well you could have: Thompson, Love, Anthony, James, Rose which would probably still be the team to beat in the East.

Knicks would have Irving + Porzingis to build around going forward.

I would do that trade in a second if I’m the Knicks, but not sure the Cavs do it though because not much is really known about Ntikilina, but who knows. The Knicks would be getting a top point guard to play alongside KP and that is a team I would watch for the next few years. They would also attract other free agents to want to play there a as well

We know Lebron is most likely out next year and at his age and all the minutes he has played, he still has incredible value and can put any franchise over the top. With Kyrie asking to leave, I think it is time to move on from Lebron. I say you trade both and try to obtain as many unprotected future 1st round picks as you possibly can for the next 3 years. This is where having a smart GM helps and right now, they don’t have one. Once they get a GM, they need to look to the future and move on.

Which means he’s not going anywhere. No one will give you value for a rental, and any team he wants to go to he won’t want to weaken that team when he can go there at full strength next year.

LBJ has a no trade clause which he was given when he extended in 2016, so cannot be moved. Also with him being potential FA next summer to get any sort of value would be hard.

I’m sure Kyrie has learned a lot from LeBron and benefited from going to 3 straight finals, but has LeBron really made him a better player on the floor? I don’t think so.

As a matter of fact, I don’t think LeBron uplifts anybody besides role players. I think he makes star players have to sacrifice their game, not maximize their game. I don’t blame Kyrie for wanting to play on a different team with a different system.

A lot of people criticize Kyrie for his losing record before LeBron got there, but he was young and the Cavs were rebuilding. I’d like to see him lead his own team now. I think he’s ready.

This brings back memories of shaq and kobe. I understand where kyrie is coming from, being that he’s young and wants to establish his own legacy. I always thought the two got along and played well with each other but maybe there was more going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about.

I know lebron has a no-trade clause but with everything that has gone on since the season ended I wouldn’t be surprised if he were willing to waive it. Im not really sure his heart is with the Cavs anymore.

Coming up with an actual trade for lebron though, whoa, that would be difficult. It’s basically unprecedented in modern NBA history to trade the best player in the game.

Has LBJ almost become what post Shaq era Kobe became in LA, wanting star players brought in then potentially wanting them moved on. If say K-Love and Kyrie ganged up against LBJ then it becomes very awkward, what if they started making overtures to other players to potentially come in and replace LBJ.

But LBJ is still in the box seat with his NTC as he can opt in for $35.6 million for 2018-19 then take things from there. Also would a legit contender go all in for LBJ unless a deal was done fairly soon, LBJ is still one of the very top players in the NBA but is 32 now and has a lot of miles on the clock. MJ was still the best at 35 but don’t forget he’d had nearly two years off at that point.

I almost wonder does LBJ need a new challenge or perhaps feels that getting past GSW with the Cavs will not get any easier.

LBJ has only ever played for two teams ableit in 3 different spells, we all know the talk about LA as his kids are schooled there. Are there any other challenges he’d want – he has won titles with both his teams – Cavs are effectively his home team, so any move to fulfill that type of dream is out.

Playing for Lakers or Celtics, will always appeal to an elite player but I’d feel that LBJ would almost want to be a first amongst equals – if he want to Lakers and won, he joins the ranks of their greats but if he say went to Knicks and won first title for over 40 years or even Chicago and won first title since MJ era, that is the sort of thing that would appeal to him more in my opinion.

Boston should go after him. He’d fill a huge roster hole at SF

^sarcasm. I could see people taking that literally.

Although BOS is loaded at the 3, Lebron would fit well into any team really unless you got RW, Wall, etc on your team

no way Irving is traded to another eastern conference rival.

No way Lebron gets traded ever.

I also doubt the Knicks are nearly as likely to get Irving in a Melo swap as some believe either. maybe if a 3 team deal also gets Cavs Bledsoe.

a Modest deal would be to trade him to Orlando for future 1sts , then Ross,Payton and hezonia.

a better trade would be to the Bucks for Dellevedova,Henson & Brogdon.

the most likely scenario that is win win would be to Phoenix for Bledsoe,Warren & Chriss.
