Do the Knicks have a chance at drafting Kenneth Faried?

He would bring Defense and Hustle to the Knicks, something they need more of.

Yes, but I think the Knicks

Yes, but I think the Knicks scouting staff will only be interested in drafting him if Morehead St continues to do well in the tourney. If they get past Kansas (they'll get past Richmond, no doubt) then I think the Knicks scouting staff will take notice and start thinking about drafting him.

I dont see that the Knicks

I dont see that the Knicks need him to be honest There are longer players and they need a 4/5 preferably a 5 not an undersized 4. Amare is their 4 and Melo can play some 4 in a pinch. They need a young playmaking point or a defensive big.

If the Knicks keep Billups

If the Knicks keep Billups and Douglas I don't see PG as being their most pressing need. They need SIZE. I'd like to see the Knicks make an attempt at Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol or Greg Oden. It would be nice to have Amare play his natural postion at the PF and Melo move to his SF spot. Oden has an awful injury history but there have been leaps and bounds made in the medical profession since the Sam Bowie days and lets be fair and say that 2 of Oden's season ending injuries were flukes, not necessarily Oden being injury prone. I think Bynum has worse knee's then Oden and will likely always struggle to some degree with them but I firmly believe that in 2-3 years from now both of their injury histories will be a thing of the past. Look at Camby. That guy could NEVER stay healthy and now people hardly ever talk about his injury history. Yao on the other hand is just too dam big to play this sport with that little thing called gravity weighing down on his frame. He breaks apart.

As far as the Knicks draft goes... take the best guy on the board regardless of need. Seriously, don't screw this up. Knicks have traded their 2012 1st and 2014 1st. If Faried ends up being the best guy available at the 17th pick, just take him. If there is also another 1st rounder available for cash (there always is) pick up another one. The Knicks could use some cheap talented youth to fill out the roster.

I think the Knicks can use a

I think the Knicks can use a defensive player in either C or SG spot. Faried is not a center but they could slide Amare at the C and pair him up with Faried. They could also grab Honeycutt if he is still on the board. They have enough fire power, they just need some defensive role players.

You really think they are

You really think they are gonna get a day one starter from where they are piking@ sheltwon? Cuz i dont. More than likely who every they pick will end up being a bac up especially in this years draft so picking a back up PF isn't bad. Especially one who can rebound and defend( two of Amare's weaknesses)

It depends to me. I feel if the Knicks can grab a solid center in the draft like Keith Benson or Jeremy Tyler, I think they can start right away IF they provide instant defensive/rebounding at those postions.

I'll say this, don't sleep on Fab Melo coming out. I think if he has a good tourney, he might test the waters. Think about it Orton came out and Melo could look at that and use his size/upside combo to go into the draft.

Fab melo sucks right now. he wayyyyyyyyyy not ready to come out. For him to have a good tournament is just as likely as the twolves going to the playoffs. He makes Daniel orton look like a lotto pick

Hey, I agree. I remember saying he wasn't NBA ready and he would need two seasons. Someone told me he was 21 and a LOCK to come out as a freshman on this site. Looks who's right.

Still, If Melo comes out, someone is gonna look and say "I could teach this guy" and that's the scary part.

That sounds like the same

That sounds like the same kind of logic that had them draft Renaldo Balkman. Faried would be a better pick than Balkman, but I didn't think he played that great in the first round. He had 17 boards, but shot 4 for 17 against a Louisville team that started 4 guards.

If Faried is a lotto pick.

If Faried is a lotto pick. That would be hilarious, no matter how weak this draft is.

I see Faried going to either

I see Faried going to either the Sixers or Knicks, whichever one ends up with the higher pick.

Why would it be so bad if Kenneth Faried was a lottery pick?

Because the low ceiling. I

Because the low ceiling. I think anywhere from 17-25 is good. If you take him 1-14, you really are expecting him to be Dennis Rodman or Ben Wallace.

Faried going in the lotto

Faried going in the lotto would be a mistake. I agree. He's a nice hustle player and he provides energy, but why reach for an energy guy if your in the lottery? The reason you're in the lottery usually is because your team isn't that talented, not because you don't have enough energy off the bench. I'm sorry, but Faried in the lottery would be a joke.

when they took a poll on espn

when they took a poll on espn insider on Fab all the scouts said they wouldnt draft him. a couple said he would get a camp invite if they had a roster available. Thats how much skills they think he has right now.

Why don't you post that then since you saw it recently....

A) Why make a article all about Fab Melo

B) Would have been saw it since I live in the upstate NY area

C) Repost it.

It wasnt recent and i always

It wasnt recent and i always put up ESPN insider stuff.. go check the archives on here its probably within the other ESPN insider stuff i put up.

and what does living in NY have to do with a ESPN insider article? There are a couple of people on here who live in NY that never saw any of the ESPN insider articles that i have put up on here in there local paper or news so what exactly is the point you are trying to make?

How about this, You get ESPN insider then you dont have wait or ask anyone else to put the stuff that is on there on here, problem solved

- You never put anything up about Fab Melo

and what does living in NY have to do with a ESPN insider article? There are a couple of people on here who live in NY that never saw any of the ESPN insider articles that i have put up on here in there local paper or news so what exactly is the point you are trying to make?

- The main SU sites post all insider stuff. I probably would have saw it as well as it would have been pointed out in a article since they been talking about Fab ALL season

How about this, You get ESPN insider then you dont have wait or ask anyone else to put the stuff that is on there on here, problem solved

- So instead of just reposting it, you make a excuse not to? Cool man.

Yes in stead of going into

Yes in stead of going into insider and searching for i decided to tell you to go search for it since you wanna see it. All it takes is a lil search so go ahead and search. Also the main su site does not post ALL insider stuff. posting some things does not Equal posting all things

I think Faried could be a

I think Faried could be a Rodman type player, seriously...early career Rodman when he was in Detroit. Faried reminds me a lot of Rodman before he abandoned his offensive game in favor of focusing on rebounding. He'll still haul in a ton of rebounds and be a great hustle player and shot blocker ( a part of his game I feel is superior to Rodman's). I think he'll go in the 18-28 range.

Also, Keith Benson is in no way ready to start for an NBA team. He's a big name right now, but he's a career backup center. Jeremy Tyler and Benson would both play behind Rony Turiaf

if the knicks would go for

if the knicks would go for this type of player they would take Tristan Thompson before they would take Kenneth Faried, Thompson is better, bigger and also could play with Amare as an undersized center!
