If you have TEvans who is ball dominant do you need a traditional PG. This site has Kings taking BKnight. Looking back over this last decade of Draft Picks i don’t see it working. In the 2 instances i can remember the team got rid of the Wing and built around the PG. When i think of Elite Wings i think the PG’s have more pedestrian #   Elite Wings who have worked with traditional PGs Kobe/MJ/DWade/DWilkins. If the Kings fancy TEvans as an Elite Wing how should they build around him.

Well it depends. Kobe and Fisher work so well together because Kobe is an okay facilitator. My opinion is it could likely work. Because if having to solid play makers beats having just one solid one. Neither Reke or Knight are phenomenal at it, but they are decent when controlling the floor. It would make it easier on Reke since he starts to become predictable down the stretch. Brandon Knight is a much better shooter too. And has size as the pg position himself. I know they want to build around Evans, but they might not want to hurt his over all game forcing him to do something he might not want to do, or can’t do. (work off the ball.)

So Knight would give the Kings/Royals two floor generals and a double threat when talking about penetrating the paint. Either way, its an upgrade from Udrih. Udrih and Tyreke work okay, but Udrih isn’t starter material, and him and Marcus thorton coming off your bench would be pretty vicious. Idk thats just my opinion.

kobe’s best backcourt mate is fisher. tyreke needs a fisher like teamate on his side and thats knight. if the kings really want to built around evans thats the best thing to do to fair him with knight.

Is Durant not ball dominant then? Either that or Russell and Kevin just take turns.

If the ball dominant player can pick and choose the right times to dominate the ball then no.

I wouldn’t call Durant ball dominant at all. He can catch and shoot, and works off the ball pretty well. Westbrook needs the ball in his hands, which is okay considering he’s their point guard.

durant isnt ball dominating player and he can shot outside thats the big difference with tyreke, tyreke cant shot outside thats why he needs the ball on his hand to create his own shot to penetrate to the basket most of the time. if faired him with pg who also needs the ball on his hands to be effective wont work with tyreke. knight is perfect backcourt mate for tyreke because knight can shot outside at the same time he was also effective even he dont dominate the ball.

if a team has a ball dominant wing, the best way to build around him is to have a point guard who can shoot and create the offense also…this is why kobe and derek fisher work well together because when kobe has the ball in his hands we know fisher can shoot…then there are times when fisher creates the offense and this allows kobe to move without the ball…so if the kings were to draft brandon knight i think it would be a good fit because if tyreke has the ball in his hands bknight can move without the ball and shoot it well..then bknight can create once he has the ball in his hands and allow tyreke to move around and post up.

A ball dominate player usually is usually the team’s primary ball handler, which Kevin Durant is not. He takes a lot of shots, but he doesn’t pound the ball as much as true ball dominate players. I mean of course he’s going to have the ball the most because he takes the most shots, but you want catch him pounding the ball. Two different things to me. The reason why Knight would be good with Reke is because he can work off the ball too as well as play with the ball in his hands. He can still be a threat without the ball in his hands, which is usually the weakness of a ball dominate player, not being able to work well without the ball.

Most teams try to find a great shooter to play alongside a ball dominant player..So can keep the defense honest at times and allow the ball dominant player to drive to the basket or create plays….
