JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantWhat has gotten into to DJ Augustine? Is this a mirage?! I mean he always put up numbers but had a terrible fg %. He is actually knocking down shots at a high rate. A good second chance for him too, no competition for minutes on the Bulls. Especially with Heinrich getting injured every other game. With the Bulls inability to score much he seems to have the green light on offense. The guy still isn’t old, and is beginning to look like he may have figured it out. It may have humbled him to fail the way he has so far. If he can continue to play the way he is the Bulls could still make the playoffs in the crummy east. I know coach Thibs has gotten his fair share of criticism but I can’t help but wonder how his coaching has impacted DJ’s resurgence. When a guy has been in the league as long as him goes to a new team and just suddenly starts to figure it out coaching usually is a big part of it.

druneave3ParticipantWould love to keep him as a backup next year but he is the next in line with Lucas, Watson, Nate Robinson to get a bigger contract offer from another team than the Bulls are willing to pay. He is playing great.
I was thinking about starting a thread asking just how bad is Kryie Irving’s defense? Augustine tourched him tonight but will Kyrie ever be a good defender? His effort on the side of the ball is clearly lacking. If he wants to be considered the top PG this area must improve.

JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantKyrie has looked to regress this year. His defense is atrocious, I think some of it is effort. He is quick enough to guard most point guards. He will struggle some against bigger stronger pgs but there is no excuse for him getting destroyed on the defensive end the way he is. Another thing I wonder is if the injuries are beginning to linger. I remember his year at Duke he hurt his foot. A bad wheel would make it tough to move laterally and play one on one defense.

GrandmamaParticipantHe always was pretty skilled, he’s just so damn small. He’s still merely a backup despite his recent outburst.

TyroberParticipantThe Bulls are set up for a point guard to dominate. Nate Robinson was pretty great when Rose went out last year and Augustin is being allowed to do the same thing.

apb540ParticipantDJ finally got healthy, plus is getting extended minutes with D-Rose out and Kirk being limited offensively.

Moon RiverParticipantGets players paid! He also uses them until they drop. Overall, a good mid season acquisition for the Bulls, which does not happen to often.
