A different iggy trade

With Philly talking about moving Iggy, what do you think about this trade.

Dallas Gets; Iggy and Gilbert Arenas

Washington get: Elton Brand

Philly Gets; Caron Butler, Deshawn stevenson, both expiring contracts and Jason terry who has 2 years left

Why Each Team does it.

Philly regains financial flexibility moving 2 huge contracts for expirings. Moveing iggy also allows gives evan turner more freedom to develop without somebody who plays exactly the same way he does also on the team.

Washington, gains a solid PF who can be a good backup and veteran leader. Elton brand's contract is a year shorter then Arenas, and he doesn't play the same position as the guy you just drafted first overall.

Dallas Got the two best players in the deal, and will make back some of the money by playing some playoff games in cowboy stadium. they also now the clear number 2 in the west, and almost level with the lakers on talent, if not depth

no no and double no....

I like the idea of Iggy in Washington somehow...maybe they trade a top ten pick at the draft with them having that cap room and John Wall and Arenas...Iggy at the Sf there would be exciting and would get them into playoffs...The Sixers need a great Center and I think the Wizards will have a high pick and their may be a chance to couple the Sixers and Wizards pick to get into the Top 5 and grab Kanter who i think can be a top center in the mold of Kaman or Bogut but shorter...Iggy for a pick that gets you Kanter wouldn't be bad next summer...If they could get Nick Young and the Pick for Iggy that would be a great deal...With Wall,Arenas and Hinrich at the Guard spots Iggy and Thornton or Howard at the Sf and Blatche,Yi and Mcgee with Serraphin also at the bigs that team would be on the rise...The Sixers would be under the Cap and get a young prospect Center and hopefully another Guard that can score...Turner and Nick Young would be great with Thad and Holiday and Kanter

@iluvdisgame Washington would

@iluvdisgame

Washington would want brands contract, because its smaller then arena's by a year and lots of money. Also as far as i know brand has never challenged a teammate to a pistol duel.

the 4th year on arenas contract is a big deal for washington given his injury history.

Also im sure brand probably has a few things he could teach blanche and mcgee about playing in the post

If WAS wants someone to teach

If WAS wants someone to teach Blatche and Mcgee about post play theyll get a coach like Ewing or Olajuwon not an over the hill PF with injuries and a terrible contract.

I love it as a Sixers fan but

I love it as a Sixers fan but it would never happen. Brand is going to surprise a lot of people with his production because he is going to get around 30 minutes a game and average around 15 and 8. That's why I feel like a contending team who wants to go all in like the Cavs did last year would benefit from taking a chance on Brand. He is finally full healthy as been playing extremely well in the pre-camp scrimmages. He played 76 games last year and over 30 minutes a game and showed no lingering problems from his prior injuries. His most onvious problem was being in game shape considering he hasnt played a full NBA season in over 3 years. but he still managed 13-6 and a block and a steal a night. Now with a full season healthy under his belt. In better game shape, and still being only 31 years old, besides having and old school game to begin with. Expect Brand to have an even bigger impact this season. Especially with Doug Collins knowing how to put his players in a position to succeed something that Eddie Jordan had no idea to do. Watching the Sixers last season was so brutally ugly because Jordan scrapped the princeton offense the first month into the season and the rest of the season the Sixers played like it was a pick up game. And the offense revolved around Andre Iguadola who not only is not capable of being the first option, even on a bad team, Iggy got his Kobe on by going iso alot and just taking terribly bad contested shots that he is not capable of making.

But with that said he is a not a good fit for the Wiz because they are going to be running and gunning. Teams he would fit in with however a team like the Bobcats who run a slow and half court oriented offense plus lack a true offensive low post presence which Elton still brings. I believe Brands style of play would fit well with Utah too and he's Jerry Sloans type of blue collar player but with Millsap and Jefferson on board he probably wouldnt fit.

The Bucks would be a nice fit too because not only are they primed for a playoff run, but with Bogut hurt, and injury prone they still need another low post presence and lets not be mistaken that Brand is still a better player then Gooden. The Spurs are in a weird situation with enough talent to make another title run but also their core getting extremely old and therefore on the verge of stripping it down. If they wanna go all in Brand would fit well next to Duncan and provide a deep and experienced team that would be dangerous come playoff time.

And I strongly believe that Elton Brand would make the Magic possibly the second best team in the East because Brand would sure up their Front Line, and make it that much more imposing. It also allows Lewis to move back to his more natural small forward line. And if that team clicks You got 4 All Stars in your starting lineup who are all under 32 and Lewis being a fringe all star. Not only that with the Magic shooting more 3 then any team in NBA history Brand would be a great asset because he is still a great offensive rebounder. And teaming him up with Howard provides not only one of the strongest frontcourts in the league but Brand's offensive savvy and low post skill will make it easier for Howard.

Yeah the Sixers do need a

Yeah the Sixers do need a great center and they just passed up on that opportunity by drafting Turner over Cousins. There isn't any Center prospect besides probably Drummond that I see coming out of the HS ranks for like the next 3 years who will any near as good as Cousins.

All true...brand is untradable...period...

Arenas for Iggy would be an ideal start to a deal...Washington may have to include this years pick and Philly may have to give up another palyer like Kapono to make the money match...Arenas and Wall could work but I think Washington is done with the Arenas project and would be open to moving him for a stud Sg/Sf and expiring deal like Kapono's 6 million dollars...trading a lotto or mid first rounder wouldn't hurt them as they'll still have money to sign a few veterans to join this up and comer...Wall and Iggy would be great and Hinrich and Young on the bench may make them a top 10 guard combo in the League...Iggy and Howard spliting time at the Sf position with Al Thornton their to give them great deprh at Sf...Blatch,Yi,McGee and Serraphin have to step up but with that extra money they have in FA they can always try to up grade at Center or PF....Arenas on the Sixers would be bad IMO as a Sixers fan because Gilbert plays the same spot as the 2 best prospects on the Team Holiday and Turner may be stunted by this move and thats not good at all...it also may be a steal if they become a Top flight guard trio with Thad and Speights growing into more defined roles...Brand,Nocioni and Battie have to be leaders in the locker room and Hawes has to step it up or we'll be looking for a Center in the draft... Iggy and Wall is a Great duo and If we could move Arenas to a third team like Orlando for Vince and Gortat maybe ...Gortat may be a good starting center and Vince expires soon I believe and it didn't work well in orlando...getting vince and a Center could help get us under the Cap next year...

Mr.19134...Brand aint going nowhere....

I'm a Philly guy and a die hard...We need to pray Hawes does what a guy like Brad Miller did and be happy if Kanter drops or Fab Melo can be a solid 10/10 and 2 block per game guy...But I really want Perry Jones by any means Necessary...I'd trade Iggy for the Wizards top 10 pick to go with our top ten pick and trade them both for a shot at Perry Jones...If he's a step below Garnett or McGrady it's worth it IMO...If he's KG 2.0 or KD 3.0 I wanna tank this season and get him straight up...trade Iggy for true Center and put the Franchise on The Holiday/Turner/Jones trio with Thad and M16 on board for the long haul...i will gladly take this season on the chin if it gets Barnes or Jones...with Iggy being my card to get a true Center by draft pick(Kanter or Fab Melo) or other team's center by trade (Kaman,Oden etc etc etc)...
