cabbycabParticipantAmir Johnson has been in the league 11 years ??????????!!!!! Where did the years go….? For some reason he perpetually seems like a 2nd or 3rd yr player…. Sorry for the randomness but I just damn near fell of the chair when I heard that.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantreally? I guess you never watch the Raptors, because he was there for a long time… I do agree with you for some other players, but i guess having Raptors TV, he’s on all the commercials, all the time..

BleedGreen808ParticipantAmir is only 28 but those 10yrs in the league have taken a toll on him. There have been times this season where he was moving like a guy in his late 30’s. He’s been dealing with plantar fasciitis for awhile but recently it’s subsided and he’s been playing much better.

OhCanada-ParticipantAmir played through alot of injuries and ailments (sometimes multiple). He also did alot to help Toronto make its recent turn to success with its 3rd year in a row winning the Atlantic Division Title by developing a winning culture and work ethic passing that on to Demar Derozan. Raps should hangup his jersey when he retires.

BleedGreen808ParticipantIt seemed like every article about Amir before and early in the season talked about his struggles with injuries. It’s a shame his body won’t let him consistently play like he has at times this year. His addition is a big part of the success the Celtics are having right now.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI remember thinking it was a terrible decision for amir to turn pro out of hs. Didn’t seem like much at the time besides a raw athlete and I thought there was a good chance he’d either get buried on an NBA bench or bounce around the d-league. Well, 11 years later he is still in the league and playing meaningful mins for a contender so I guess I was wrong.
