Did the foreign center drop out of the draft...
The Montejunas kid...he isn't in the latest nbadraft.net mock...
I was just about to ask the same question,
is it just a mistake?
yeah, he's listed as the 6th pick in the 2011 Mock draft. I don't think it's a mistake
It will be a great international draft next year if he doesn't enter. Jan Vesley, Enes Kanter (though he's in the NCAA he's still Turkish) and Montejunas are all top 10 prospects
Still I think if he does, thats a right decision, he isn't really ready yet, if he shows better range and adds muscle he could be a top 5 pick in 2011
what he really has to lose. Do you really think he can come back and be a lock for top 5?
What I'm hearing is that strength and his defense are his weakness. He'll prob still have the same questions next yr as well, bc people will say he did so and so against weak talent.
He might as well stay in the draft, get drafted, play against the talent here then work hard in the weight room.
He will develop some if he stays in Europe for another year but not nearly as much as practicing every day with nba players.
I think something most aren't thinking that he just might not be all that ready to leave his home, I mean he is a 19 year old kid, in a year I think he will be more mature and ready to get to America. You shouldn't just think of prospects as basketball players, they are people too
I think he has a much better chance of going higher if he enter next year. This draft is very deep since so many guys are coming out to avoid the chance of losing contracts due to the imposing lockout situation. His stock certainly hasn't risen that much and alot of guys like Babbitt, George, Monroe...etc are all rising as of now. He's not in much of the draft conversation right now so I think stay one more year and then coming out could def. improve his stock especially if he improves defensively, his lost post game, and on the boards.
i heard that his agent has said that if he doesn't get a lottery promise that he will withdraw his name from the draft. therefore if you aren't projecting him to be lottery, you can draw the conclusion that he'll withdraw
A few weeks ago, he came out and said that if he didn't feel as though he was a lock to go in the lottery this year, he was going to withdraw from the draft. I haven't heard anything official yet, but that is probably what happened.
His name is Donatas Motiejunas.
Think Motie, not Monte.
At what point are they not allowed to withdraw their names form the draft?
I think it was like May 8 for NCAA and June 15 for Euro or something.
all i know is this kid dominated the nike hoop summit when he was in it...
