Detroit Pistons one of the Softest Teams in the league

Did anyone see the play last night where Javale McGee got the ball and had an uncontested dunk with 3 guys around Him last night? The pistons should be embarrassed after that play, how do you let a guy drive from the top of the key with no resistance or a hard foul??? I'm pretty sure if it was the bad boys pistons or the early 2000's teams, Javale would have have got his glock cleaned. I'm not sure why the coach doesn't discipline them for their lack of effort on D, which was detroits bread and butter forever. Ugh where's bill lambier or Ben Wallace when you need him

Andre Drummond, Kyle Singler,

Andre Drummond, Kyle Singler, and Kim English are all rookies and were out there with Jerebko (who was guarding the ball) and Bynum (trailing the play). It is hard to play three rookies and not have rough outings especially defensively.

detroit has looked soft and

detroit has looked soft and just no awareness in terms of defense.. no boxing out..not closing out on shooters.. no rim protector.. but were still rebuilding (duh) and lawrence frank is committed to playing the young guys so i dont expect us to win many games

its still early.... very early

Doesn't matter rookies or not

Doesn't matter rookies or not everyone knows you don't allow easy baskets, my coach preaches that nonstop. By the way Andre is seen a a defensive anchor and singlet played for coach k, who teaches all the fundementals

You don't play in the NBA,

You don't play in the NBA, and I guarantee that whatever your coach has you doing defensively is not on the level of what NBA teams do. Drummond is seen as someone who can develop into a defensive anchor because of his size and athleticism, not because he has a clue as to what he should be doing or where to be right now. He is one week into his career, it is okay to admit he isn't good yet. As for Singler, he was never a good defensive player at Duke, and much like Drummond is clearly lost defensively right now. Right now, Singler is making shots and has snuck free for a few layups. If that continues, he will be able to hang around the league, but the defense at this point is lousy. It is okay, but it does make the job of Lawrence Frank much harder to have to teach remedial NBA defense to three rookies who are in his second unit.

And to think, about 5 years

And to think, about 5 years ago, this was the scariest team in the league.
