ReactionParticipantWhat do you guys think of the Pistons passing over Trey Burke for KCP? How good is KCP? Who does he compare to? I haven’t seen too much of KCP, but I was very disappointed they didn’t take Burke. What do you guys think?

Sewok15ParticipantAt the very best he could be a smaller Klay Thompson. At worst I would say he will be like a Jodie Meeks role player and shooter off the bench. I think most likely he will end up more like a Wesley Matthews type player. He will give you around 14 or 15 a game and shoot about 40% from downtown. He probably won’t be anything too special but he will be a solid guy to have on the Pistons moving forward.

r377ParticipantThey must have alot of confidence in Knight as a PG. Burke could well be a top 5 player from this draft…..

PlatypusParticipantAs a pistons fan I’m going to be blunt, I’m pissed off. They gave Brandon Knight the chance and its obvious that he has 6th man material all over him. Detroit could have changed the franchise by bringing in a point guard who played on the ball in college and was the leader of his team. Joe D, you blew it. Shooting guard was our 3rd need… We still need a point guard to feed our bigs and still need a small forward… Again, I think its time we move on from Dumars

PistonsFan22ParticipantI love Caldwell-Pope, he is going to be a good one. Happy with the pick but would have preferred Burke. Burke in my opinion is going to be a very special player. The Jazz got a steal. I think Burke ended up in a better situation. He is the ideal point guard for Utah’s combination of players. Burke and Burks compliment each other’s games very well. Plus with Hayward’s overall game and ability to shoot and the two young big men, Utah is looking like a team with a very bright future.
I like the Pistons draft even though I’ll think about what could have been. We almost had McLemore and could have had Burke. I think Caldwell-Pope has a lot of potential and could very well end up as the best 2 guard in this draft. I wouldn’t predict he will be but won’t be shocked if he is one day. He will be really looked down upon by a lot of Pistons fans because they chose him over Burke but he has a chance to be a great 2 guard in this league. He can really shoot and is a good defender with the chance to be a great defender. This guy is a perfect player to space the floor for Monroe and Drummond. It’s going to be interesting to see how much Knight develops as a point guard in the off season.
