Malik-UniversalParticipantok, we know the pistons blew last year, and the contracts of BG and charlie v arent very good…. but…. dont forget they were injuried multiple times last season, esp. gordan, and when BG was healthy, he was beast! trust me…. i like the pick of monroe, thou i reall really wanted cousins, but… with tmac on board and rip or tay likely out of town, what kind of future does this team hold??? they have pretty young talent, and injuries really depleted us last yr….
thoughts?

knicks82ParticipantI guess there arent alot of Piston fans on here…. Idk. But I think the Pistons are a 30 win team rite now. They got some good talent, I love Rodney Stuckey, hes probably my favorite non-Knick player. If Greg Monroe pans out to be a good legit big man in the league, then theyll have some pieces to build around.

PlatypusParticipantThey need someone like Tyson Chandler on the team. they need a defensive minded 7 footer (havent had a 7 footer on the roster in years). They need a true point guard. i like Stuckey but he’d be a hell of a 6th man instead of a starting point guard. they have a roster of people who are great 6th mans (Rip, BG, Prince, and Stuckey)
Just trade the roster for expiring contracts, young talent, and draft picks.

TC_42ParticipantThey’re a little bit hard to predict this season, because it all just depends on what they get in a trade for Prince and/or Rip. What they need is a scoring big man. Gordon, Rip, TMac, Villanueva… all perimeter scoring players essentially. That’s why they were so bad on offense last year. When the Js aren’t falling, they can’t establish ANYTHING inside.

esperanzafleet69Participanti completely disagree… they need somebody who is going to draw doubles from the post… opening up outside shooters…
i hope they suck it up again for an even better lottery pick…

TC_42ParticipantAgreed, esperanza. They need to finally get a superstar player… Barnes would be sweet and fill a need for the upcoming season.

ChewyParticipantGordon= Shoot first option, shoot second option, hold a gun to his head and he might pass up a J.
Hamilton= Shoot first
Stuckey= Shoot first
Bynum= Shoot first
T-Mac= Shoot first
Charlie V= Shoot first
Monroe= Best passer on the team lolThere is no way an offense can run efficiently with this many like minded individuals.

jdstormParticipantright now they are probably tied for equal worst in the east with the cavs. and the only west team would be favourites or even odds to beat is the twolves, unless the warriors get hit by more injuries, and the clippers go neuclear.
however i have heard that harrison barnes is gonna be really good, and at least they dont have to pay BG rip and Charlie V in a lockout year

bobbybParticipantwhy people think they already lost because they had one bad year. T Mac might pull this team around, i predict a 6,7.8 seed in playoffs

durantula83ParticipantIf they run plays through Monroe on the regular they might surprise people. Monroe can be compared to Webber/Diaw, an excellent passing big that can open up things. I don’t think they will deal Hamilton because he will benefit the most from Monroe’s presence. He excels at backdoor cutting so he should have a great season. I don’t think they’ll even get an eight seed but they should do better than last year if everyone is healthy. I always liked Maxiell when he came off the bench as an energy guy behind Sheed and Ben but last year, he didn’t make the leap forward everyone expected him to. Villaneuva is very talented, the only problem is it hardly ever comes out. Some games he looks like an All-Star and in other games he puts up alot of bad shots and can’t even get 10 points. Alot will depend on T-Mac and how good he will be this year, most people think he’s done and he probably won’t return to his old form but who knows…
