Derrick Rose is unquestionably a superstar how come he has no help? When superstars around the nba are asked about Rose they all have good things to say weather it’s about his game, how humble he is, or his desire to win. Now the thing I don’t understand is how come none have teamed up with him? Does Derrick really think he can go win a championship by himself even with the new trend of everyone having a "big 3"?

I really wouldn’t say that Derrick Rose is "by himself" by any standards.  Chicago actually had a very good team last year, and had the potential to maybe pull and upset over the defending Eastern Conference Champions, the Miami Heat.

However, Derrick Rose tore his ACL in Game 1 of the playoffs, and the Bulls just could never get it going mentally after Rose went down.

Rose has help though.  Luol Deng was an All-Star this year, Carlos Boozer has been an All-Star in year’s past, Joakim Noah is one of the highest-quality of centers this league has to offer with his untapped energy and his all or nothing attitude.

Rip Hamilton was a veteran who had won a championship before in Detroit.  Taj Gibson is a starting power forward on most NBA teams, and Omer Asik is no scrub at center.  Derrick Rose has help, and last year was probably their best chance to win a championship since he has been in the NBA, and a freakish injury took that chance away.

LeBron didn’t go to Chicago because he didn’t want to be a shadow of MJ.  D-Wade wouldn’t leave Miami.  Chris Bosh wanted to win, and he felt that Miami had a better chance to do so.  Joe Johnson was overpayed by Atlanta.  Amare got paid more by New York.  Carmelo is too ball dominate to work with Derrick Rose.  Deron Williams plays the same position as well as Chris Paul.  Dwight Howard would be a pretty good fit for Chicago I’d admit, but he doesn’t want to be there either.

The Bulls just need to stop overpaying their players and use the left over money to sign quality players and hopefully fascilitate a trade that would bring in some quality to help Rose win a championship. (Josh Smith, perhaps?)

Theyve done a real good job building around him and i think that they will be able to win maybe one title in the next couple of years. They are a tough defensive team with a top 10 player in Derrick Rose. If he wins a title on his own that will greatly influence his legacy. I dont think hed be a great fit next to other stars as he is a ball dominant high volume shoot first point guard. Rose can win a title on his own he just needs to work on making his teammates better a trait i havent seen enough from him yet.

they have done a horrific job building around Rose actually. they overpayed a washed up carlos boozer, had guys like Korver and Watson play a ton of minutes. Noah is injured a lot, Asik is just a big body. To be quite honest, Deng might be the only right piece they have. Thibodeau is a terrific coach and really got the best out of his players and had them play excellent basketball. Rose needs more help and other players who can create their own shot if the Bulls want to have a shot at the Heat or the title for that matter

The Bulls have "nice" players that they surrounded him with. Noah is an energy player whose offensive game is pretty much all put backs and opposing centers not respecting him and letting him shoot from 12 feet out. Boozer is just over paid and doesn’t have a clue on how to play like he used to. Deng can’t create his own shots and Rip has always been a player that comes off screens to be a catch and shoot player. Not saying these players are terrible or anything but they need another player who is capable of creating his own shot or even someone who can take the pressure off of Rose

"create his own shot"…I hate seeing this critique.  It is one of the laziest, most uneducated statements in analysis.  Deng?  You may think he just spots up and hits jump shots, but you would be extremely wrong.  He takes guys off the dribble all the time, and he finishes at the rim.  And did you know basketball is played on the defensive end too?  Rip?  Yes, he’s great at running off screens, but he can also be very effective with the ball in his hands.  Plus, isn’t making his man chase him through a series of off-ball screens so he gets a wide open look "creating his own shot?"  Boozer?  All he does is "create his own shot."  Noah is limited offensively, but how many centers in the league are better all-around players?  Not many.

To say Bulls management has done a horrific job at building around Rose is stupid and ignorant.  Sure they have made some mistakes in the past.  The biggest one I can think of was trading LaMarcus Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas on draft night.  And that was before Rose was even drafted.  And who knows if they would have even been in the lottery in ’08 had Aldridge joined the "big 3" of Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich (remember they won the lotto with a 1.9% chance and had been floating around .500 for about 4 years).  Boozer is overpaid for sure, but they just payed the market price at the time for the best remaining PF free agent (frankly I’m glad we didn’t get Amare, and Bosh was clearly going to team up with either Wade or Lebron…or both!).

So they put together a team for 2 years that finished with the best regular season record twice.  Man, they must all suck except for Rose!!  217xPr0d1gY is right on.  The OP is way off.

Sorry for the rant.  Not sorry if this comes off as condescending…it was meant to.

I like Deng, he’s very valuable to the Bulls and a great player but he doesn’t do this. He really doesn’t create his own shot that well. He spots up from 3, cuts and hits midrange shots coming off screens for a large majority of his points. Very rarely will you ever see him just take someone off of the dribble. It doesn’t make him less of a player, and his defense is still excellent, but he’s not going to be a guy you can rely on consistently to take over games.

Deng doesn’t take guys off the dribble. If he does so, its very rare.
