yes you could put together a nice mix-tape for just about every1, fact is derrick favors did not have a very strong year at georgia tech. he do have a lot of upside, but if i’m goin big man in this draft, i’m goin demarcus cousins

When he stayed out of foul trouble he played very well. He is the reason Georgia Tech started playing better at the end of the year and averaged like 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in the last 10 or so games.

I’m not impressed with Favors..He reminds me of Tauren Green’s dad Sidney Green he played in the NBA for 10 years..He was a nice role player..His style of play and Built is very similar to Favors…

I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but Aran and Joseph, I can’t create threads. Each time I try to, I get the response “Service Unavailable?” I can post stuff and make comments but not create threads. I can’t even make my mock a thread for further evaluations from other users. Please fix this.

He looks great compared to Yi. Video or no video , Yi sucks , i hate to say that about someone but it is true. He is very talented but so weak, he and finish around the basket. Sucks on defense. This would be a dream to get this guy.

I agree with you ricks17, Derrick Favors had a good year for a Freshman. But when you come in with the hype and expectations he had, he season was very underwhelming. Just didn’t show me enough to warrant being a top 3 or 5 pick. Maybe somewhere in the late lotto. But it seems like people already made up their minds before he stepped foot on campus that he was gonna be a high draft pick. It just seemed like college was a little bit difficult for him, and he couldn’t just dominate with his raw tools.
And yea, if you want a quality big, draft a once in a decade big man in Demarcus Cousins.

Favors would be great in Golden State’s system. He’s fast, athletic, can rebound extremely well, has enough strength to defend the rim, and would be a perfect finisher for Curry.

I am saying it now and I mentioned it earlier. Favors will remind a lot of people of Dwight Howard. He will grow to be at least 6’11” with his wingspan and have people wondering how did he not go higher. NJ will have luck up if they take him. I like John Wall but with all these good point guard and few big men. Big men like Favors are a greater commodity.

first of all we dont know if he is gonna grow or not so you cant say he is gonna grow. 2 he might be a rebounbding and shot blocking beast but not a offensive beast. i think nj is perfect for him because he wont have plays run for him he can just go out and play since there main scorers will be lopez, harris, twill, cdr. So all he has to do is play his role and slowly develope his average offense ala kenyon martin

Stanford, did you not read what i said. I am saying he would be a good fit for NJ because of basically what you said. Howard bring defense and rebounding. I am saying if NJ lets him pass they will be stupid.
Also dude is 18 and you have seen his wingspan. It is possible he could grow another inch. It is more than likely he grows at least half an inch percentage wise. The would put him at close enough to 6’11” anyway he has the wingspan to play Center and the size. 240 or so on like 6 percent body fat. That means he has a naturally big frame and you can see that by looking at him because some guys that are that big have a least 8 to 10 body fat which is not really that bad. it is hard for most people to be that thick and be like 5 percent body fat. You see how skinny Whiteside is at 5 percent. Kenyon Martin actually had a decent 15 foot shot coming in and he could ocassionally shoot the 3. I think you are getting so caught up in Martin dunks you forget his game. Also despite his muscles Martin did not bang that much like Favors will probably. Martin liked to use his athleticism for dunks. You saw Martin in the high post more than in the low post.

I’m not blown away by this video. I thought Favors was more athletic? He’s not Amare Stoudemire… I think saying he’ll be the next Antonio McDyess is even pushing it.

I just think if Amare or Dwight Howard would’ve been more dominant as Freshman in college than Favors was this past season. Favors has the tools, and yeah, he’s young, but I just don’t see a no-brainer type prospect. That doesn’t mean he will be a bust or anything, but he won’t warrant being selected where he’s projected. He should be an ok player in this league though.

Yeah but Amare would have been two years older than Favors if he had gone to college as a freshman.

At the same age (18) Favors was the ACC rookie of the year while Amare was sitting out his junior season of high school ball due to transfer rules.
