treytalkssports.comParticipantLakers get: Derozan (sign and trade max), 2016 #9
Raptors get: Louis Williams, Carmelo Anthony (must sign off on trade)
Knicks get: 2016 #2, 2016 #27, Jordan Clarkson (sign and trade 4 year, 12-15 million a year)
Lakers get an all-star player for dropping 7 spots in the draft. Derozan comes home. At #9 they can target Poelti, Davis, or Chriss. New core: Russell-Derozan-Randle-Poelti-SACRE
Raptors get a scorer to replace Derozan at shooting guard, while also getting an elite scorer to pair with Lowry. Lowry-Williams-Carroll-Melo-Valancunas could compete with the Cavs in the East.
Knicks get into this year’s draft and draft Brandon Ingram to replace Melo. Ingram can develop in a triangle offense with a new focus on the 3. At #27, they can look at Baldwin, Maker, or (my favorite for the Knicks) Gbinije. They also get a big point guard, which is a perfect fit in the triangle offense. New core: Clarkson-Gbinije-Ingram-Zinger-Lopez
I think every team wins this trade. The Raptors become contenders who match up better with the Cavs. The Lakers get an all-star to appease their fan base, but still get a high pick. With that core and Derozan, someone may be interested in signing with the Lakers this off-season. The Knicks replace the 18 year old Ingram with the 31 year old Anthony, while also getting a starting point guard and another late first round pick. With thier extra cap space, they can still target a veteran on the wing.

llperezderozan is an unrestricted free agent. he could join lakers without them having to give up anything. And if the lakers did want to do this, i wouldnt give up brandon ingram jordan clarkson, lou williams just to give derozan a max deal which that by itself is debateable if he deserves that kind of money. I would be beyond pissed if the lakers did this.

treytalkssports.comParticipantGood call. I should have seen that.
The ESPN article did mention a sign-and-trade specifically, but thinking about it, the Lakers probably give up too much for this.

OhCanada-ParticipantYah your alot better than this. Probably shouldn’t listen to ESPN.
Even if the trade could happen Raptors don’t want Lou Williams or they would have Lou Williams. He won 6th man of the year and they let him walk when he requested to stay with them. There’s a reason why and defence is one of the reasons why Toronto beat Indiana and Miami in these Playoffs. Williams provides no defence and ruins continuity in your offense.

OhCanada-ParticipantActually looked at the trade and it’s very well balanced each team does win as far as value goes but Anthony and Williams are not good fits on the teams overall character and approach going forward. I would much rather have Derozan the guy who has built this team than Anthony even know Anthony is a better player. Either way the post is fun to think of and creative.

llperezim gonna have to disagree. Derozan being worth the max is debatebale all by itself before you include any other assets. but to pay him close to 30 mill per AND give up brandon ingram who alone might be worth more and then jordan clarkson who im very high on all to pay derozan HUGE money. No thanks, i cant see any argument how this would be smart for lakers unless you think ingram and clarkson both suck.

OhCanada-ParticipantLol I personally think it’s hilarious because Ive seen about 50 of these proposed trades from Lakers fans this year. Not you but some of your fanbase is unrealistic. Tables turned a bit here. No way the Lakers trade every valuable asset they have but Russell and Randle to sign an UFA on a sign and trade even if they could sign Biyambo Barnes and Horford by doing this.

BiggaveliiiParticipantcalling it he re ups in Tdot. Melo is older and not as athletic as Derozan so i dont know if raptors would do it anyways, but i can see Melo getting traded somewhere possibly to one of the LA teams or Miami who knows.

ExumInfernoParticipantThe only place Carmelo might go is LA, so maybe Anthony and DeRozan could end up as teammates there.
Not a good trade idea, even if DeRozan wasn’t a free agent, Lakers can’t get Anthony now without other older stars, like DeRozan, there and they can’t trade all their good assets for him.
