Deron Williams ready to get out of Utah...
...LAKE SHOW asked the question earlier tonight and posted an article about it...By the ways hes playing tonight and the attitude(noticable disgust) he showing...the answer is yes
I hate watching this unfold but I think utah is coming to two ends. 1st d will then sloan retirement. I just think we never found a sufficent wing player to compliment williams. I hope we can make a move but it is looking like he is more and more fed up.... hope he decides to come back. if not.... just dont join the lakers.
dwill looks like he is quiting which on one hand i dont really blame him cause the team is not playing well. But they are like 9 games over .500, so they just all need to get pissed off and pick it up.
Looking at a game like tonight I would too.
been asking for a vet wing to compliment d will for awhile and with they wings available like capt jax wallace even mayo at the 2 would be nice beside d will i dont get why the jazz dont try and get one of these guys
Not sure of their financial situation, but they need to get a deal done. I don't know what they are waiting for because this team won't do and Williams will be out of there asap. Jazz need to pull the trigga on a deal.
I suspected this kind of slump would happen all year long. All year long they've been struggling right of the gate. They save all their energy for the second half. They don't seem to realize that against most teams in the league you can't do that. When you give a bad team confidence they will take that and run with it and play well because those chances don't come by very often for bad teams. Yet the Jazz don't seem to change. They always come out struggling. Even the games against the Heat and the Magic earlier this season all featured the Jazz struggling, getting down by a large margin and then coming back. Why do you think they lead the league with the most comebacks at 12. Its not a coincidence, the Jazz always start out slow. Eventually those slow starts will catch up to them. And guess what it finally has. They shouldn't have lost to the Wizards, Nets or the Sixers. But why did they lose to them because once again they had a very slow start. If the Jazz have another slow start they will probably lose the game. This is why I mentioned that CJ Miles needs to start to give that starting some energy right out of the gate and stop these slow starts.
Who will score off the bench if CJ starts at the 2, Raja Bell will, Ronnie Price, Earl Watson, Memo. Someone will get it together. I also think that what nomoney has to say is correct. The Jazz are in a slump right now, they will get out of it. Although I don't think they will truly be out of it until their starting lineup looks like this Dwill, Miles, AK, Millsap, Jefferson. Tonights game (wednesday) against the spurs should make all the difference simply because its a home game. The Jazz haven't played at home since before Civil Rights Day! They are homesick, need a lineup change, and then probably just need a year to build all of that chemistry. I don't think Boozer, Memo and Dwill all meshed right off the bat. They were together for quite awhile. I don't think they started playing well together in year 1, that probably didn't happen until year 2. This is first year that Dwill, and Jefferson have been playing together. They're not going to mesh right away. By next year their chemistry and consequently they will play much better.
Yes the Jazz do need a 2 guard, but I don't think they make the move to get him. They're aren't willing to trade AK or Memo because no team wants to shed salary and AK is just irreplaceable. Besides those two there really is no player worth trading that teams would accept to get a 2 guard. But in this year's draft they could find their guy in William Buford or Jordan Hamilton.
Lets watch tonight home game against the Spurs with both CJ and AK in the lineup (I hope) and see if they play better. They just need to come out firing on all cylinders. Win the first quarter and their problems should be solved.
I hate to say it but, he's gone after his contract is up. I think he looks at Utah and wonders can he win here....
Utah is a small market team that having issues breaking into the top 4 of the West. If your Williams, no matter who's there and what Utah can do, unless you can prove it to him that you can do it, he should and probably would leave.
Also, I have to say AK47 is not irreplaceable....that's how and why guys leave, he's a huge contract, if you can turn him into overall better players, you do it. If you can move Okur into a better player you do it. Yea, Sloan has a system BUT there is a reason Utah has never won a title...they never make big moves when they have the chance.
Tell me were he could go that he has a better chance of winning?
Where he can go?
In 2 seasons, he could go to:
LAC (Griffin, Gordon, Aminu, Bledsoe and a 2012 top 5 guy)
There are teams who just need growing and can be better the Utah in 2 years. I don't think New York would be in position for Williams.
Probably waiting for AK's contract to run out then pick up a freeagent and make some trades. I suspect this roster will look much different next season in a effort to keep Dwill around
Send AK's expiring and picks to Philly for Iggy?
I made a post a while ago of why i think he will stay, here it is.
Reason 1- Jerry Sloan. Only 17 victories away from tying Pat Riley for 3 all time in coaching wins. The 68 yr old has said he intends to be back threw the 2011-12 season. No doubt knows how to coach great players.
Reason 2- Paul Millsap. 25yrs old. 20th in efficiency ahead of players like Kobe and Nash. But his contract is only worth 32 Mill over 4 years. Talk about bargains.
Reason 3- Andrei Kirilenko's expiring contract worth $17.8 mill. It might not bring the Jazz that far under the cap this summer. But with Memo's big contract expiring the year after, it gives them huge flexibility.
Reason 4- Al Jefferson. He struggled at times early, but it looks like he's finally starting to come into his own. He's moving well, showing he's a beast down low with an arsenal of post moves. He's playing pretty good defence too. 1.7 bpg this year tied for a career high. I know some people watched the game against the Magic on the 10th. He and 3 blocks, had 2 steals and held Howard to 5 of 15 shooting with 5 turnovers. I know its only one game but still no doubt an improvement over Memo on D.
Reason 5- top 3 players all are 26 or younger and under contract for atleast 3 more years. Thats 3 years to grow together and build chemistry. Also the Potential of Guys like Hayward and Miles who are only 20 and 23.
And i really would love to see us pick up A.I. Maybe trade A.K.s expiring deal also C.J. Miles and a pick or two.
Allen Iverson? That's a terrible move for Utah....
Utah needs to move Okur and AK47. We keep preaching it but they have to do it.
haha i didnt know Iverson was still in the NBA thats news to me. I ment the new A.I. Andre Iguodala.
Oh, sorry, that's the old school in me. I call Iguadala "Iggy". My bad.
I just read this so i doesnt look like its gonna happen...

Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand are "all but certain" to be with the Sixers for the rest of the season, sources tell the Sporting News.
Since a 3-13 start, the Sixers are 16-12. They have been hesitant to trade away Iguodala for mere expiring contracts over the last couple years, insisting on getting talent back in return. Now, they are insisting on keeping Iguodala and Brand so they can sneak into the playoffs again and allow the mediocrity to continue. From a fantasy perspective, Iguodala's best numbers will come in Philadelphia. On a contender, he would have an even smaller role offensively.

Stories like this happen every time a team hits a slump. I'm sure D-Will is frustrated, but anyone who wouldn't be doesn't need to be in the NBA. As soon as they put together a few consecutive wins, there will be stories about how they have the potential (there's that word again) to be a dominant team for the next decade. Let's not assume D-Will's or anyone else's future is decided by a few games.
These stories were talked about before they started losing. Dwill has been In Utah for a coupel of years now and they have been running in place each year so i can see why he might leave. Esspecially after watching these other stars leave. He's not getting any younger and other young teams like OKC are getting better each year
Let me ask you this if the Jazz were winning would Dwill want to leave? I don't think so. Wait a second the Jazz were winning this year in November, 13-3. The Jazz can do it, they can win, they can keep dwill. He's just frustrated because the Jazz have lost 5 straight and always start out slow. I am too so I don't blame him. Once they start winning again, which they will, all this talk that he is leaving will stop.
Once they start winning again, which they will, all this talk that he is leaving will stop.
Not really. If he wins a title, it will stop. They're not close to that now.
