Depressing Greg Oden Picture/Article
This just popped up in my NBA spool and really made me sad for the guy. I really hope he gets a chance to have a career.
Poor kid can't catch a break...AND he looks like he is already 52..... LOL jk.
Damn I swear there is some bad luck going around the Blazer organization.
As one of the biggest Greg Oden supporters on planet earth, this is another devastating hit. People could say they predicted whatever they wanted, but no one I know predicted that this would happen. It would be one thing if Greg had played poorly over a long period of time, but he has yet to get the chance to even do that.
WHY? Well, I know people will undoubtedly hate on him and make jokes, but if this guy were healthy, he would be one of the better centers in the league. Definitely still believe that as no one can box him out, he had amazing timing blocking shots and was a beast to defend in the post. I would love to eventually hear some good news about Greg Oden one of these days.
at the end of the day, hes still a multimillionare (which consists of maybe 1 percent of the worlds population)...so that that kind of helps relive some the depression..i guess
He should just call it quits instead of hurting himself over and over.
I don't care how much money he's made when you see the guy your franchise COULD'VE drafted win scoring titles and lead his team to championship contention that hurts. Greg Oden must be incredibly strong mentally, because I know his psyche is just demoralized. The big guy just has to remain strong until his time comes, and I know it will.
even before he was drafted he looked really old so I thought that there would be injury concerns then and it seems like he really does have the body of an older man
Oden said if he couldn't play in the NBA he would be a dentist. He should pursue that.
He still has time. I remember when Chandler and Camby stayed hurt. They are doing fine right now.
&$#%#&@! pictures like these tear me up, I have the upmost respect for that whole orginization and their extremelly loyal fanbase. Could you just imagine a healthy team with Roy, Aldridge and Oden for the last few seasons and going forward. I personally think if health was never an issue this team could of won 1 maybe 2 titles in the future, it's a damn travesty.
NVM, THIS PIC IS FROM 2007, NOT THIS YEAR.
I knew he looked more like 58, instead of 62.
But that is relieving, that he's not on crutches at this point, but I really hope that he can stay healthy, cause I have no doubt that he can a be a 18 and 8 guy.
greg oden reminds me of the robin williams movie jack....i can totally picture greg playing with a cardboard box lol
I knew this picture had to be old... Oden hasn't been this skinny since he was drafted...
Hopefully he comes back strong and puts togather a nice career, he seems like a good guy who just has had alot of misfortune, blazers really has some bad luck.
Is it just me or is this doctor doing these surgeries not that good. I mean first Darius miles cant come back from knee problems in portland, then Roy and now Oden has another setback. I dont know if is the same doctor doing the surgeries but it seems like all the other people that have microfracture surgeries these days are able to bounce back like Amare and even perkins came back in just 6 months. I really hope Oden gets a chance to show why he was so Hype coming out of school.
On a side note, since his lower body has been on the IR, his upper body is JACKED! He looks huge from waste up!
Oden is an anagram for done.
But i hope he plays this year and beyond.
Trade this man to Phoenix. Remember when we all though Grant Hill was done? Grant Hill's injuries were of a similar severity to Oden's (breaks/fractures) and once he arrived in Phoenix he got healthy. I hope he's getting multiple opinions from doctors. Grant Hill always though his issue was his ankle, but after seeing other doctors it turned out the problem was with his hip, and that caused the ankle problems. They fixed the hip and now he's a solid NBA player at age 40.
