Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI love his game and Im a fan, but No. I think Fultz is better long term and if healthy Giles is too. Tatum needs more heart and Bacon, Fox and J Jackson can score with the best of them. Dont see how Smith is 1 unless he turns in D Rose or John Wall

dazeoneParticipantHe is fiyah….He makes the pass and is unguardable…gave Odilopo a run for his money defensively after he had his shot blocked as a HS Junior in the YouTube clip…

Robb_CParticipantWould like to see how he recovers from that ACL Tear before we even consider him a top 5 pick

MorseWillParticipantAssuming he doesn’t have trouble again with that knee, I don’t have any problem with him being the early number 1. I haven’t seen a ton of Fultz, but before Smiths injury I would’ve liked him at 1. His athleticism and playmaking can make him a star in the league. May not be the popular opinion to have him one but I kinda like it

Anton123ParticipantWell, NBAdraft.net did an interview with him, so now, obviously, he’s the best prospect in the draft. Wait for his player comparison to become MVP season Derrick Rose.

Kokayne_DawkinzParticipantPeople forget how dominate he was before the injury. I remember him tearing up the summer circuit last year and even the Curry camp were no other PG could contain him. He looks great at the adidass camp. I love how smith uses his althetic ability in games.

circumlocution75ParticipantI have ever seen. It doesn’t even look real.
It all depends on how the NCAA seasons develops but I could def see Dennis Smith going #1
Especially if a team wins that #1 pick in the Lottery that needa a pure, explosive scorer – he is a Very rare talent.
the 2017 Draft is going to be Crazy – there is So much talent in that Top 10

theballerwayParticipantCan be considered top 5 with two knee injuries and limited explosivenerss then I cant see why smith cant. Even if he wasnt the same athl;etically he would still be ahead of most of the pg field. Interview timing is funny/rise to #1 is funny tho

TarHeelRavenParticipantDennis Smith is a freak of nature like a young Steve Francis. If he recovers from that knee injury and comes back 100 percent healthy, he is scary. You rarely see that kind of speed, quickness, agility and he’s strong too. I could see him being the number one pick if he fully recovers from his ACL tear and tears up his only season with the Wolfpack.

OhCanada-ParticipantNC State is a nice sleeper in the ACC this year. Incoming freshmen Smith and Yurtseven should make immediate impacts. Anya, Abu and Kirk are underrated returning players. They could surprise some people.

ph90702Their ceiling is always limited with Mark Gottfried as the head coach.

OhCanada-ParticipantTo be fair this site has always been very high on Smith. Yah and they did the same thing with Fultz bumping him up to 1st position after releasing his interview, but its early I’m the mock so it doesn’t really mean much.
Longterm I think Smith can pass him but right now with everything Fultz had proven this Summer he has to be the number one prospect.

HitsterParticipantI’ll openly admit that I haven’t seen a lot of Smith and if he has already had an ACL tear at 18 years old then that is always a concern. But he seems as legit a prospect as other top guys in the mocks so has the potential to go top 5 region, he could be the breakout star and a clear number 1, he could slip back into the pack.
I just hope his knee will be sound and he can do himself justice, he has time to refine his game at this stage of his career and with the medical and recovery facilities available, he’ll get the best treatment. Teams will do their due diligence on his knee issue too.

ReekoParticipantIn my opinion though the best pg in the class isn’t even ranked in the lottery on this mock. Frank Jackson has star written all over him. Not only is he talented but in any videos you see of him interacting with the other players, they all seem to rally around him. He seems to be a natural born leader.

tuck243ParticipantI said this kid was the top of his class 2 years ago. With the way the NBA is going and the way he plays, I couldn’t see teams passing up on him at #1. His athleticism is top notch and he has one of the quickest first steps I’ve ever seen. I actually got upset at Derryck Thornton finishing school early to enroll at Duke. I KNEW that was going to hurt our chances in getting Dennis (it most likely did) and the kid didn’t even stick around. Don’t get me wrong, Frank is a good replacement to have, but he’s no Dennis Smith. Dennis’s heso is already an unstoppable move right now no matter what level of basketball he’s playing at. His jumper got better every year too, I’m still sick we didn’t get him. *I’m sobbing right now*

BeastMode716ParticipantIf Dennis Smith went to Duke or Kentucky the Hype Train would be off the charts & the Hype is Real.
Watching this kid Dennis Smith is a real Treat – He is outrageously Explosive & it seems so effortless – he just raises up & kepps going up & he just Flies thru the Air.
Frank Jackosn is nice & I guess it’ll be a lot of fun watching the ACC Tourney w/ Smith at NC St & Tatum & Giles at Duke. If Dennis Smith was at Duke it would not have been fair. I could have seen that team going Undefeated & becoming a National sensation like Kentucky was 2 years ago.
