When I was 14 and Rodman was playing for the Bulls, rainbow hair and all, I was at a restaurant/bar where Rodman was drinking. I walked up to ask for an autograph and was confronted by 6 body guards who stepped in front and of Rodman and said “Dennis doesn’t want anyone bothering him”.

no details of real importance. maybe a game where he slapped his face to hype his self up but that isnt of any importance. if you wanna get a good grade on the paper you will look up his bio

    @ UncleBuckShot

    14 and in a bar? 🙁

    @ thatguy

He was a smart offensive player but he knew that he wasnt the best passer or the best shooter on the team so he concentrated on getting every rebound.

people always assume that Michael was the hardest working in the weight room
but the hardest training player (in the weight room) was Dennis Rodman, he would spend a lot of time running in the pool to get his leg power up.

(former) coach 1nce coached a (former) NBA player and he said that when they was wrking out for the draft in Chicago

U can get more interesting stuff on wikipedia, like did u know he was a minimum wage janitor and never played organized ball until he went to NAIA school.

All instinct, intelligence, and savvy, Once grabbed 50 rebounds in an NAIA game

    1. Rodman entered drug rehabilitation in May 2008.[56] In May 2009, his misbehaviour on Celebrity Apprentice led to an intervention which included Phil Jackson as well as Rodman’s family and other friends. Rodman initially refused to enter rehabilitation because, he said, he wanted to attend the Celebrity Apprentice reunion show.[57][58] Rodman agreed to appear on the third season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.[59][60] Commenting on Rodman’s detachment from the rehabilitation process, Dr. Drew Pinsky, who treated him, commented that Rodman was “hyper-focused in some ways, and in others, completely blank,” and observed that Rodman did not comprehend what the other patients were experiencing, or how they they perceived him. Pinsky concluded that Rodman may have Asperger’s syndrome, a diagnosis with which a colleague from UCLA Medical Center concurred.[61] The show premiered on January 10, 2010, and on that same day, Rodman was removed from an Orange County, California restaurant for disruptive behavior.[62]

    2. ?
    3. He was still a virgin at age 20 so I guess cultural norm “pressured” him into doing what he did!! (I dont believe in peer pressure to tell you the truth)

    4. After being drafted by the Pistons, Rodman met his girlfriend and later wife Anicka “Annie” Bakes and had a daughter Alexis (born 1989). She married and divorced him in 1993, an experience which left him traumatized.[10] Rodman’s refusal to take a HIV test was cited as the main conflict that led to the divorce. In that year, he was found asleep in his car with a loaded rifle in his hand, and it was rumored that he had tried to commit suicide,[2] which he confirmed four years later: but instead of killing himself,

he decided to symbolically kill the shy Dennis Rodman he hated and to be reborn as a man full of self-confidence

    5. his dad left him, all female household left him “overwhelmed”
    6. Got cut from basketball and football teams- need to belong

i have his autobiography “bad as I wanna be” But your out your mind if you think im gonna miss march madness to look up his stories for you. I know he starts the book by saying he sat in his car outside the pistons arena one day and put a shotgun in his mouth and thought about killing himself. Instead, he became a differnt man from that day on and started getting the tattoos and dying his hair and acting all crazy.

I recalled reading some Charlie Rosen’s articles about things on Rodman, you maybe able to google them up.

According to Charlie Rosen, Rodman is a winner and wanted to win while David Robinson is a loser that would make himself looks great but wouldn’t do all the stuffs to win game. In an article, he mentioned that in one of the game as a Spur, Rodman figured the opposing team offense and asked Robinson to help him cover up his man to free him up for a move (can’t remember what exactly), but Robinson refused to do so because Robinson told him he would only take on his man and refused to help Rodman. So Rodman figured Robinson is a loser and eventually turned off from the Spurs team. Which created chemistry issue and eventually Rodman was sent away. Rodman then joined MJ in Chicago to help the Bulls won 3 championship.

i can go on for days about rodman, both good and bad. He was a very intelligent basketball player, but he was disrespectuflu towards anyone he thought wasn’t smarter then him at the game. SO in turn it was often him who was the distraction to a team. Let’s not forget, he was never more then the third best player on any of his title teams and while many hall of fame caliber players from his era are maintaining jobs in the basketabll world, he is on celebrity rehab with dr drew.

    Dennis The Menace

Undoubtedly, the NBA has been home to some of the world’s most athletically gifted individuals—as well as some of the most provocative players. But over the years, no player may have been more controversial than the madman himself, Dennis Rodman. An outlandish character, Rodman has never been one to shy away from cameras. As if appearing in NBA games was not enough, Rodman often sought additional media attention through television shows, movies, books, and even wrestling. Often on the brink of insanity, Rodman continued to push the limits—testing the rest of the world’s patience. His journey through life has been one filled with conquest, scandals, insanity, seduction and devotion.

“I spent my whole childhood looking for an escape”

Dennis Rodman was not exactly born into a loving and caring family. While growing in Trenton, New Jersey, his father left him and his mother when he was all of three years old. After losing everything they had, Rodman and his mother moved to Dallas, Texas. At the time, Dallas was a corrupt city, filled with drugs, prostitution, and gang involvement. In an attempt to avoid these temptations, Rodman joined the South Oak Cliff High School basketball team—his performance, less than stellar. He lacked size (measuring at a miniscule five feet six inches) and ability, but had plenty of heart. Despite his will, he was cut from the team, as well as the football team. At this point, Rodman had just about given up on his aspirations of playing sports or being a successful person in general. He was truly lost in nearly all aspects of his life—he even thought he maybe a homosexual due to his insecurities. Despite his struggles, he managed to graduate high school and entered work as a janitor at a local airport. While much of the world had seemed to have given up on him, it seemed as if he still had a blessing from the man upstairs as he benefited from an immense growth spurt—growing into a six foot eight frame.

With his newfound size, Rodman managed to star on the Cooke County College basketball team. Renowned for his tenacity, Rodman put up great numbers on the court, but failed to meet the standard in the classroom. He eventually was forced to transfer to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, an even less prestigious school. At the school he eventually met a boy named Byrne Rich. Byrne had accidently shot and killed his best friend, causing him to draw insecurity about himself, similar to Rodman. They quickly became inseparable friends and the Riches family eventually took Rodman in and sheltered him while he continued schooling at SOSU. The Riches comforted him and helped him live in the predominantly white community, where his size and race were discriminated against. Dennis stayed mentally strong though and with the lack of competition in the league, Rodman dominated and became a three-time All-American. Rebounding became his forte, as he had stated, “I’m hungrier than those other guys out there. Every rebound is a personal challenge.” All of his success on the court was paying dividends as he even caught the eye of Chuck Daly and the Pistons—the NBA’s “Bad Boys”.

“My rookie year, I was very immature”

To summarize Dennis Rodman’s transition to the NBA lifestyle—it was like giving a teenage the keys to a Ferrari—they’re going to go fast and be reckless. Throughout the regular season, Rodman seemed to fit perfectly into the “Bad Boy” style play of tenacious defense and a physical offense. He even helped lead them to the playoffs where they ended up facing another physical Celtics team. During the series, the rivalry heated up even more and Rodman was thrown right into the fire. After the heartbreaking series, Rodman criticized the super-star Larry Bird, saying that he was overrated and only got as much attention because he was white. When the media quickly came around to say that Rodman was a racist, he addressed the accusations by stating “I go out with white women. This makes a lot of people unhappy, mostly black women.” As the media attention subsided, the Pistons continued to practice and build on their competitive team. Over the next six seasons, Rodman and the Pistons continued to make deep playoff runs—even winning championships in 1989 and 1990. Then, in the 1992-93 season, everything that was once so consistent and effective…BLEW UP.

“Death has always had a prominent place in my mind”

Following the 1991-92 season, Rodman suffered a huge loss in his head coach, Chuck Daly. Daly had been a monumental figure in Rodman’s life—someone he could turn to in time of need. When Daly re-signed, Rodman had even throughout about quitting the game and subsequently skipped preseason camp, for which he was fined $68,000. Months later, Rodman eventually married his lifelong love Annie Bakes–ending in an abrupt divorce. The emotional toll reached a climax during a night in May of 1993. During that night Rodman convinced himself that he was going to end it all—he was going to kill himself. As he sat in his car with his shotgun loaded, he contemplated about his life. He realized that he was not the person he wanted to be and he was going to “live [his] life the way [he] intended to live it and be happy doing it.” On March 1, 1993, Rodman was traded to the San Antonio Spurs.

“You can love me or you can hate me”

As Rodman transitioned into his new life, his play on the court continued to epitomize aggressive defense, hustle, and pure will. He was the leading candidate to become the defensive player of the year and was once again leading the league in rebounding. While that area of his life remained the same, he started to demonstrate some truly off the wall behavior. One of his new pre-game rituals was to shave his head and dye it a different color. He also began dating Madonna despite being spotted at gay bars. He began to lose the respect of many of his teammates and the front office became concerned with the recent developments—only keeping him around for his stellar on-court performances. But in 1994, Rodman was in an automobile accident and was forced to miss 33 games. Then after failing to win a championship, Rodman was once again traded—this time to the glorious Chicago Bulls.

“There’s one thing everyone should understand: I like my character”

If any coach could command the respect from Dennis Rodman, it had to be Phil Jackson of the Chicago Bulls. Phil Jackson, widely considered the greatest NBA head coach of the modern era, already was able to channel the superegos of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Critics thought the task of containing Dennis Rodman would destroy the Bulls, but the addition proved to be well worth it. With Rodman, Jordan, and Pippen on the court, the Bulls were damn near unstoppable. Rodman did have some incidents, such as the infamous head butting of Ted Bernhardt, and his ego was vividly apparent. But this time it was different—the Bulls did not worry about images, it was about championships and from 1996-1998, they won all three.

“My feet are like gnarled old tree branches”

After Rodman left the game of basketball in 2000, after a brief stint with the Dallas Mavericks, he still craved the media attention. The Post-NBA era for Rodman, actually catapulted him to a new level of celebrity. Rodman went on to star in films (Simon Sez and Double Team), create TV shows (The Rodman World Tour), professionally wrestle, and even wrote two books (Bad as I Wanna Be and I Should Be Dead Now). In an attempt to sell his books, he even wore a wedding dress and bizarre comments such as “If I want to wear a dress, I’ll wear a dress” and “I wear women’s leggings under my clothes, but no lingerie.”

Love him or hate him, Dennis Rodman was and always will be a menace.

he’s an idiot, but freakish athlete.
Played back to back playoff games no rest in between games I believe it was Sat. Sun games and the Sat. game went into OT thanks to Jordan’s late game heroics. This was against the Knicks in 96 both he played 40 plus games and after the 1st game was riding the bike and he went out that night to do some press stuff as well.
