Demarcus Cousins could be a steal at 2!

After posting this in the Evan Turner forum, which everybody should also read and comment on, I decided this thought deserves it's own forum. First off how Demarcus' Cousins huge 6'11 270 frame has been hidden in John Wall's shadow i don't know. What I do know is that Cousins is a true center with a body that comes ready to bang in the NBA. Also, he has a truly advanced offensive skill set for his age. When looking back there hasn't been a center coming into the league with his offensive skill set since maybe Yao Ming. Oden is a better athlete but did not have the move Cousins has. Cousins averaged 15 points playing only 23 minutes a game. In face he averaged 15 n 9.8 rebounds, n 1.8 blocks. Round that off and in 23 minutes he averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Not bad for a freshman center who was also voted as a first team All-American. Could you imagine what Cousins would of averaged playing on a team that wasn't stacked at about 30 some minutes a night. Easily 20 and 12. That kind of size and production is hard to ignore.

Size still wins rings. The Magic have turned themselves into contenders but grabbing a dominant big man and sprinkling pieces around him. The sixers already have sprinkled pieces if we could grab a dominant big man wouldn't that make us a nicer team? Doesn't Dwight Howard need an Arch-rival? Wouldn't Cousins look perfect next to M16's gerthy athletic frame?

I agree with you 100%. Guys

I agree with you 100%. Guys like Turner, who I do believe will be a very good player, aren't the guys who win you championships, at least not the main reason. Cousins is the type of player that can make your team a contender for years for all of the reasons you stated.

It all comes down to his character for most people. I would gamble on him in a second without hesitation. He has the size, skill set and agressiveness that I want in a player.

If he dedicates himself and comes out with a chip on his shoulder wanting to shut up all of his critics, he will be the best player in this draft in my opinion.

If he fell to 3, he and Lopez would be a force. The Nets may have lucked out by not having to think much about their decision.

Exactly

I do not know how more people are not on Cousins' bandwagon like any at least casual basketball fan i watched all the Kentucky games on t.v. And what i saw was not the next best pg but the next best center who always took over down the stretch. Cousins wanted the ball and got it wit the game on the line. I just got done reading his interview transcript and it must of been the highlight of the combine so far. Judging from the interview he is a kid with high confidence and he got that tough skinned personality that would make him a superstar in Philadelphia. The Eddy Curry comparisons are unfair cuz Cousins keeps himself in way better shape then Curry could of even imagined. And ten years from now Cousins in the only player with the potential to be better then John Wall in this draft.

Agreed

I agree too but passing on Turner is like all the teams who passses on Roy in '07 and even last year passing on Holiday, Lawson, Collison and Jennings. But Cousins as I said is a true 5 man and they are hard to find in the league. he is less athletic than D12 but can bang with him bringing him to Philly is a good move with Holiday at the point, Young at the 3 and Speights at the 4. Dalembert, Igoudala and Brand have to go keep Lou Williams for instant offense and they can be the Blazers of the East young and good.

Young Core
Holiday
Young
Speights
Cousins
Williams

Igoudala Trade Bait
Brand Trade Bait contract
Dalemdert Expiring Deal

Cousins

I want him if we trade 2 for 4 and 16. I just have a really tough time passing on a potential franchise player, not that Cuz doesn't have some potential for that. Turner has everything you look for in a superstar minus a consistent J which who knows, maybe he has fixed that since the end of the season.

Favors Favored?

it looks like the sixers are looking big but in the direction of Favors instead who i also like i just dont think he will have the offensive game Cousins has ever. If the sixers could swing the second pick for the 4th and 16th that would b a nice deal.
