ThenilonatorParticipantI read today that it looks as though Matthew Dellavadova has all but secured himself a roster spot with the cavs.
Being Aussie, I’m really happy for him as I just kind of expected him to go to Europe (where I actually do think he is better suited), which would have been a shame because once the Aussie guys go to Europe it’s quite hard to keep track of them.even though I can’t see him getting any significant minutes I actually think the cavs saw a guy that is extremely competitive, very experienced and tenacious which would be perfect for a second unit particularly in practice for a guy like Kyrie to go up against each day. If it all came down to mental strength and work ethic he would get big minutes but the mechanics of his jump shot and the lack of lateral speed and explosiveness hurts him on the offensive end.
Hope he does get a contract as reported though, well deserved!0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/21/2013 - 4:43pm #824342
PortlandTrailblazers21ParticipantMatthew Dellavedova is one of my favorite players but his summer league stats didnt look very good so I thought he would just be sent to canton in the d league, and lead a path similar to Kevin jones’

llperezwatched him quite a bit at st marrys last season and I loved his all around floor game and high iq. I watched half of one of his summer league games and the one thing that troubled me was he had 2 wide open threes and he looked like he really had to strain to get the ball to the rim and his shot was flat and short and both missed. I know 2 shots is nothing, but seeing a guy struggle to get it there from deep is a legit concern.

Chilbert arenasParticipantHe’ll be on their training camp and preseason roster but I doubt he makes it through October. As a fellow WCC alum I wish him the best.

European BasketballerParticipantI think he is much better point guard than Patty Mills.

ThenilonatorParticipant2 different guards. Party mills is a scorer and is lightning quick, Dellavadova gives you defence and decision making but struggles in the areas mills excels. I don’t understand why patty mills doesn’t go to a team that can give him minutes. Even when the spurs lost Parker and Neal to injury they brought up Corey Joseph and he jumped him in the pecking order. I know he can wave a towel but surely he must be stinging to play meaningful minutes which I’m sure he could do efficiently on a less stacked team

Kinguy11ParticipantI liked him when he played during the lockout season. I agree that if given minutes he could thrive but you’d struggle to find a team that would readily supply said minutes.

adumParticipantHe seemed frustrated with pressure from athletic guards.
I think he could be better with playing with better teammates but in my opinion he is very very far from contributing to a nba team .0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/21/2013 - 11:05pm #824434
