JM40ParticipantWatching the Iowa St vs. Kansas game, and can’t help but think DeAndre Kane is a real sleeper in the 2014 draft. I realize his age is a negative, but he sure looks solid out there. Great size, decent shot, good handles, and seems to be a leader on the floor. What more can a team ask for in a 3rd PG option in the league?

Lafferty DanielParticipantThat shot he just made at the end of the 1st half vs Kansas. Dayum.

NJBrown5ParticipantNothing against Kane, but I think Ejim is a better player. He’s averaging 18 and 7 this year, taking one of the biggest steps forward for this Cyclones team. Ejim is forced to work out of the post a lot, solely due to Iowa State’s lack of interior size, but he can step out and shoot the three…he can also make free throws, something Kane failed to do a lot tonight, especially when it mattered down the stretch.
It’s a shame he’s not getting any appreciation simply because he’s a senior. Good size, good smarts, good prospect.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe guy who comes to mind for me is Jae Crowder. Like Kane, Jae is probably too small to ever be ideal in a starting lineup, but does so many things well. Because Kane can be effective on both ends of the court, he can really be of use off a bench. With teams nudging up against the tax line, I think he would be a nice candidate for teams that need cheap, capable players for the back half of the roster.
