DeAndre Jordan is NOT 7 foot. He's 6'9.75 w/o shoes and 6'11 w. shoes
He is because you say he's not.
Ok Cyclo, we get it.
DeAndre Jordan is 6'11 and not 7'0.... so?
This dude needs to find a hobby, or a b*tch
So he is pretty much 6'10 without shoes and A lot of centers are 6'10 with shoes. Look some centers add to 2 inches with shoes like Cole alrich Idk if I spelled his name right. so he has perfect height for the center postion and more. Stupid.
I saw a pic of Blake Grffin(6'10") and Jordan standing side-by-side, and it looked like DJ had at least 2 in. on him. It's entirely possible that he grew after he measured 6'11" at the combine when he was 19. And so what if he's just 6'11" and not 7'? He still has a huge wingspan and standing reach. You don't play BBall with your head.
We get it. You feel that heights are the end all be all of a basketball player. It is a game of inches. So on and so forth. Stop making these ridiculous posts. The thing that makes these posts so ridiculous? You do everything off of straight height rather than taking into account length or the averages for a position. Even if DeAndre Jordan is "only 6'11", he has a 7'6 wingspan (average for centers in the database, 7'2.8) and a 9'5.5 (average for centers in the database, 9'1.4) standing reach. So, even if his height is average, or even below average (which it is not, as the guy is a pretty legit 7 footer from what I have heard), his width and length is greater than most center prospects. Now, if he could shoot, it would be something else entirely. Stick to basketball rather than just pure physical attributes. Or, at the very least, if you bring these things up, have some semblance of what really matters.
His standing reach is 9 and a half feet!!! I must have missed that before. That is ridiculous. But then again he is ONLY 6'11" in shoes. I wonder if the Clippers knew this when they offered him his 5 year 40mil contract. Anyway, excellent research DuckingDunkDog.
ps- you can't find this on the internet but I call my self 5 feet 9 inches but I am only 5'7" with socks on. Does this affect my draft stock?
Dude, we don't care. 6'11 or 7'0, he's a raw center with a lot of potential, has a good work ethic, and compliments Blake well. And you said that the one inch difference doesn't he is a physical specimen, I mean really? Look at his vertical, wingspan, reach, ect. Just give it a rest and continue with your lonely and useless life.
OK DunkingDuckingDog we get it inches makes a difference just like you were
3 inches short of riding that roller coaster
60 inches from nailing that full court shot in the last minute of the leroy jenkins 3rd grade championship
5 cuts away from making the 4th grade team
340 degrees away from nailing that backflip
36 inches away from dunking on a 9ft rim
6 inches away from your manhood to be considered "average"
and cyclo based time away for your arguement from ever being considered valid
It’s not easy being both the top pick in the NBA draft and also the best player on your team embarking on a new season. That’s where Anthony Davis finds himself as preseason nears an end. He’s been the focus of opposing defenses, and as such has already taken some lumps, but he has the right mentality and is ready for the challenge.
