DeAndre Ayton The Real Deal

In 2 games Ayton is Averaging 22 pts 12 rbs 3 blks 62% FG and a heckuva midrange shot. To me DeAndre Ayton has to be the 2nd Most Exciting thing this Preseason outside the hype following Lebron & the Lakers. And he's Showing he's a much better defender than scouts gave him credit. Plus to have Tyson Chandler as a mentor is a plus. I Can't Wait to see his Matchup with Embiid.

He’s been impressive, so

He’s been impressive, so impressive that I’d like to propose we call him the Bahamian Behemoth

But then again... he did play the Breakers

Their big guys are Shawn Long and Tai Wesley, Ayton could make them BBQ chicken in his sleeeeep

He looks like he will be the

He looks like he will be the real deal right out of the gate. His defense has been the most impressive. He has a great mid range stroke that is almost unguardable. The matchup vs Embid will be must-see TV. As a Suns fan, I am glad we didnt dump him for KAT (rumored around draft time). I think he has a higher ceiling and an overall talent that is only matched by Embid at the center spot in the NBA (I consider AD a PF).

Yeah he's good

a man amongst boys, he uses his brute strength, pogo stick bounce and midrange jumper to dominate. I want to see him develop or use post moves or face up moves that can get to the rim and power his way to it. Everytime he jab step and reverse pivot in the midrange area then rise above the defender and shoot it, although it's going in i want to see him more attack the basket when facing up, he can't be stop when he do that

Hopefully he'll learn to be

Hopefully he'll learn to be meaner.

As tall and big as he is, he's a finesse player.

My favorite part on his game so far, only 1 TO in 64 minutes(4 assists), super nice for a rookie bigmen.

Also 6 blocks and only 4 fouls.

Scoring efficiently, making his FT, rebounding, shot blocking, not TO prone, not foul prone...without booker, with D-league PG only, it's hard to do more.

I like Doncic but we gotta slow the Hype train

Luka has 5 assist & 8 turn overs in 2 pre season games

In China, a half asleep & Jet Lagged Ben Simmons covering Luka in Man Defense absolutely swallowed Doncic whole

And Doncic - even though he has Great instincts - as a primary initiator for the Mavs offense does not seem capable of beating anyone off the dribble & Doncic is Not a great shooter. He shot 33% against really slow Euro defenders

In the 2 games I saw Doncic he really struggled against Man defense, he can't go to his Left at all, so opponents of forcing him Left & he is going to have a really hard time getting his shot up off the dribble against lightning quick NBA defenders

Young is getting Killed & his shooting has been Poor but I have been very impressed w/ his passing & he's beating his man off the dribble & getting into the lane & dishing to streaking teammates for lay ups or kicking out to other teammates for wide open 3's -----

I respect people who disagree w/ me & We'll see how Trae Young's shot develops but I have to be honest with Mo Bamba & Wendell Carter still on the Draft Board I just can Not give up a Uber Valuable 2019 Lottery pick for Luka Doncic - that is a Really steep price.

Ayton looks Imcredible! His Offensive game is So polished already & his Defense is Better than Anyone imagined! I know Embiid has given Ayton some good natured stick but even Embiid admits that Ayton is going to be a fantastic NBA player & when a team has a player that size w/ that ability in the Post it Opens up the court for Everyone else! Josh Jackson is playing like a Beast w/ Ayton on the floor & when Booker returns that Phoenix Offense w/ Booker, Josh Jax, Mikel Bridges & Ayton is Really going to be a Handful!

I agree Doncic looks fat and

I agree Doncic looks fat and disinterested. It also looks like him and Dennis Smith Jr. are going to have chemistry issues. It should be interesting to see how it all plays out and the blessing here is that the team has great vets like Nowitzki and Barea to help create some sort of order in that lockeroom.

Ayton on the other side looks like he is already the go t guy on a Suns team that is currently without Booker. HE could be the piece that team has been waiting for to take it to the next level. I know its just preseason but my money is on Ayton to win rookie of the year despite how much I hyped up Doncic all summer.

With that being said I would

With that being said I would still take Doncic 2nd overall and not even think twice about it.

As a Suns fan, I'm delighted

As a Suns fan, I'm delighted Ayton is looking good. He is in a good situation with Tyson Chandler, Trevor Ariza and Ryan Anderson around him to help mentor him and give a young team experience. Anderson will help spread the play and allow Ayton to play around the rim.

It is early days and we'll need to see how he looks over a full season but as a Phoenix fan I'm excited.
