Deandre Ayton has to be clear #1 pick, no debate

this guy has got to be a clear #1 pick in the upcoming draft. These last 2 games in the pac 12 tourny vs ucla and usc (and playing against borderline nba prospects in thomas welsh and chenzie metu) Ayton just dominated. In the 2 games, he averaged 32 pts...16rebs...and shot 78%fg and 90% ft.

He is just a crazy physical specimen and hes money from mid range with his jumper which is the really scary part. Imagine greg oden with no injuries and a money jump shot and thats what you got here in this kid.

Yeah, I still want to see

Yeah, I still want to see Michael Porter’s private workout right before the draft, when his back is more recovered.

I agree

I see why the David Robinson comparison. Physically a monster and has that soft tough. Will throw it on you one play then drift out and sink an 18 footer with ease! Then he plays with the passion. Clear number 1. Wasn't sold early but he has shut that door.

He reminds me of Greg Oden

He reminds me of Greg Oden and Joel Embiid when watching them in college. So physically gifted and skilled. His talent talent really pops on the screen like them.

I like some of the old school

I like some of the old school comps I have seen around the internet: there is some Hakeem there. A little bit of Bill Walton. Probably even Wilt. Lots of Wilt with some Hakeem. Not quite as big as Shaq but more skilled. Although freshman Ayton was probably bigger than Shaq.

JJJ had lots of upside as does Bamba with Bamba having more upside on defense. I have liked the David Robinson comp better for Bamba instead of Ayton and still do.

If you watch enough highlights you can talk yourself into Ayton being the next Wilt. Bamba has Bill Russell-sequel upside on D.

Hey, I will even throw out a Jaren Jackson Jr has a 5% chance at being a 6'10 Kareem.

Go big in this draft!

In other news, someone on the Grizz board said that Luka Doncic is out 2 weeks with a calf injury.

I see my Buddy LL Perez is

I see my Buddy LL Perez is still Representing the West Coast! Ayton has been the best Player in college B Ball the last 2 weeks, since reports of him accepting money surfaced.I Guess he needed some motivation,to pi$$ him off. Becuz at times he plays 2 laid back.He reminds me of Boogie. He's not as dominant defensively as Robinson or Oden,YET. He should be 1st pick. But Porter might still be in the conversation for some teams.I think Jackson is a little overrated

Reminds me of a bigger Kevin

Reminds me of a bigger Kevin Garnett as scary as that sounds and heres why.

-Dominates that high post/midrange 15 foot jumpshot. This will probably eventually be stretched out to 3pt shots but I love the fact that he knows noone can block this shot.

-Has great footwork and really knows how to spin into his shots and over his shoulders.

-2nd and 3rd bounce on blocks/rebounds/putbacks is just as explosive as his first. Seems to have unlimited stamina.

-I questioned his motor and intensity earlier in the year but I was wrong. Man is he active and is also vocal.

-He talks alot and is physical. Id imagine hes not a guy you would wanna play against.

The things he doesnt have and Garnett did would be court vision, ball handling and complete insanity. I dont think anyone in there right mind would pass on him at this point...with that beind said Vlade may still pick Doncic.

I would say he is a lock if

I would say he is a lock if there weren't questions about his motor. I don't see dominant, can't miss, unicorn talent. If he doesn't give max effort on defense then he is like LA Lakers Dwight Howard. Ayton isn't much of a ball handler and he isn't creating his own shot so he will need to establish post position to be effective...that's very hard to do in the NBA these days, especially with out the ability to attack off the dribble. I still think Jaren Jackson has the highest ceiling of anyone and would select him first overall. I might just have an affinity for these multi talented type of players because I would have selected Jonathan Isaac first overall last year.

I hope the knicks keep losing

Knicks are clearly the worst team in the NBA and need that #1 pick badly. Deandre Ayton and Embiid rivarly will be nice.

I like the David Robinson

I like the David Robinson comparison, that was used for Oden during his college time. I don't think Ayton is quite as hyped as Oden was but he looks a fairly special player.

A team would need a very good reason not to take him first in the draft, looking at all the likely teams who could get 1st pick, I cannot see one. Even Philly with Embeast, they could move one to PF on occasion and use a 3 man big roster with Saric in effect.

Very good passer, rebounder

Very good passer, rebounder and has a nice shooting touch.

My knock on him would be his defense - he is good offensively but is nowhere as good as David Robinson defensively. He just doesn't seem to protect the rim that well - not as intimidating defensively as prev talents - ewing, robinson, hakeem

SGA doesn't have Ball's

SGA doesn't have Ball's Vision or a Loud Dad. I think he'll go in the 13 to 20 range.

Hes probably right there with

Hes probably right there with Collin Sexton and Trae Young and may even get picked ahead of both. Teams really value that length/athletisism look at Ntilikina last year getting picked ahead of Smith based on his measurements and potential. Based on tournament play conference and national he has also been the best out of all three of them. I see him rising and have him in that 7-13 range.
