I hate to see posts about "made up trades" where someone gets their favorite team CP3 & D Howard for a couple bench players plus cash considerations. Then go on to explain how the deal makes sense :-/ Well Im not a big Lakers fan, Im actually not a huge fan of any one team. Im a NBA fan. But based on rumors, and what teams has been floating around, I think this is a deal, or deals, the Lakers should pursue.

You need a talented pg in the game now of days. If the Wolves want Bynum that bad, give them Bynum for Flynn, Darko, and #2 pick. I believe TWolves would take that deal as they really want a big man. Since the Cavs also want the #2 pick, and Detroit would like an athletic/defensive big to pair with Monroe, Ill try to work out a 3team deal where the Cavs move either Hickson or Verajo (who teams hope Biyomba can become) for Hamilton’s contract plus #8 pick. Hamilton again would be bought out, and Cavs can then trade No. 4 and 8 picks to Lakers for #2. Cavs then can draft both Irving and Williams to build around. Lakers, hopefully can draft Kanter at 4, and any other prospect at 8; Im thinking Valanciunas, even if he stays over a year or two.

Lakers: Flynn/Fisher/Blake–Kobe/Brown–Artest/Barnes–Odom/Kanter–Gasol/Valanciunas. Flynn, Kanter, Valanciunas are future core for Lakers.

TWolves: Gets Bynum (who they love) to pair with Love. Cavs: Gets their two prospects in Irving and Willaims.

Pistons: Gets a young athletic PF (Hickson or Verajo) to pair with Monroe. It’s looking like they want a big over a pg in the draft.

    What do yall think?

The only hinge with this is that Buss would rather move Pau than Bynum, thus making this deal harder cus of Pau’s age, he’s old.  Flynn has had minimal production in Minn so I doubt he would be the lakers solution.  But, in your trade theory, why wouldn’t the Lakers wanna take Derrick Williams at #2?  Why trade back?  There has been talk from the Lakers about possibly moving Artest, why not pull that trigger and take, who I feel is the best player in the draft, Derrick Williams?

I think in this draft, the cavs are set on just getting 3 first round picks.  They wouldn’t wanna trade a 4 and 8 for #2, thats just too much value there.  The Cavs would make a play for Andre Iguodala or OJ Mayo if they got the 1,4,8 trio of picks.  Trade the 4th and a guy like Ramon Sessions for one of the two players and take a shooter with the 8th or go big with a guy like Tristan or a Morris brother.

Specualtion has it that if Kanter is there at 4, the Cavs will trade with Washington to get the Wizards 6th and 18th picks.  With that 6th pick, they may trade back again for Kaly Thompson and a SF with 18th, someone like Jordan Hamilton if he’s still there.  To me, thats the best scenario for the cavs is to trade the 4th to Washington for a 3rd first round pick and take the Irving, Thompon, and Hamilton.

I like your theory, but I don’t see the Lakers ending ties with Bynum for Valanciunas and Kanter.  He’s too athletic and in his prime.  I wouldn’t label myself a big NBA guy, but I can see value for this draft as a Cavs fan.  It’s weak, more picks = better situation.

I like what Bynum showed in the playoffs, but he’s being paid superstar Center money, and theyve been trying to deal Artest since last season, NO ONE WANTS HIM.  And yes, they rather move Pau, but TWolves do not want him either. And Flynn is off of potential still, but I like him next to Kobe. He can score off the dribble and can run an offense. In Minn, they were counting on him too much, in LA, he’ss provide enough. And about the Lakers then moving back, Derrick Williams is a great prospect, but Lakers are going to need a Center-type that can come off the bench now. If they give up Bynum, they need another big body now! Kanter provides that, and pairing Kanter with Valanciuanas is for the future. Kobe is in his early 30s, but hes been in league since 18! He’s got years on his body and is wearing down. And the Cavs were trying to move Hickson for Detroits #8 and Hamilton before, with intentions of moving #4 and #8 for the TWolves #2 pick. Cavs cannot compete period, but intentions were to have the two best players to build around for the future.

This is a deal the Lakers SHOULD NOT do..Lakers want to win now. This will set them back.

The Lakers really need shooters and a point guard that can defend, make plays & shoot 3 pointers…Their lack of outside shooters made things tough on their big men in the playoffs, becuz defenses sagged in on them….
