ballislife33ParticipantMcDermott is no where as athletic as Gallo, Gary Harris is gonna be better offensivly than George Hill, I see Zach Lavine as a point, but if he was a two I think he would be more dynamic than Nick Young, other than that I like em

The8thDeadlySinParticipantNot the same athlete as Gallo but an almost identical skill set.. Why you think Harris is gonna be a better offensive player? You know Hill averaged almost 20 a game for his college career? LaVine only averaged 1.8 assists a game.. I dont see PG in his future.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThose comparisons are pretty good. One of my Jabari comps a while back was Bernard King. … if he turns into a guy like a prime Bernard King he would be a really good top 3 pick.
I can buy that Joel Embiid comparison to David Robinson. Now, if you get that guy at 3? That would be something else!
If teams think they can get the next David Robinson with Joel Embiid I think he becomes the number one pick, even if the team at the top is still really high on Jabari and Wiggins. It’s just hard to pass up on a guy like David Robinson. … we have only seen two big men of his caliber (Shaq and Duncan) since David Robinson got drafted. Obviously, guys like Shaq, Duncan, and Olajuwon don’t come around very often, but neither do guys like David Robinson.
The best thing about great big men, is that you can put a bunch of shooters around them and compete year in and year out. Unlike, wings, who unless you get the TOP GUYS you still need inside players and point guards.
My baseline now for Andrew Wiggins is Paul George with my upside comparisons being Clyde Drexler, Dr. J, and Tracy McGrady. I don’t think he reaches Jordan’s level. Clyde and Doc each won a ring, but they didn’t win it all until they hooked up with Hakeem and Moses Malone.

mike_r232ParticipantI really like the Ron Harper comparison to Exum. A 6’6 guy that can play both positions when needed. People forget that Harper was a 20ppg guy before arriving in Chicago and taking on a smaller role and playing next to Jordan (aka, scoring not needed). His best season in 89-90 looks pretty nice: 22.8ppg, 5.9rpg, 5.2apg, 2.3spg, and 1.2 bpg. If Exum does THAT, then I think he’s a success.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantIt frustrates me when people compare prospects to Hall of Famers/past greats. I like Noah Vonleh, but he isnt even close to C-Webb, he isnt as athletic, and while Noah has a good handle, C-webb was transcendent for his position in terms of handling the rock.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHe wont re-transcend ball handling like Blake Griffin did but the kid can handle the ball. Lets not forget that when they go to college, they are limited to what fits the coaches system. I think its good for them to play in a system and be restricted a bit but the kid has handles. And he is a good enough athlete. Probably wont have a career like Webber but he is the closest thing to Webber that we have seen.

tblazer_NZParticipantNoah Vonleh is a poor passer and Chris Webber was a GREAT passer for a big man.
I HOPE Wiggins is not as passive as Nicolas Batum.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantBatum is a heck of a player. Just better served as a number 3 scoring option and a number 1 defender.

tidhoParticipantA lot of the former/current guys listed were sooooooooo much more polished coming into the league than this draft class is. Seriously, Embiid and Robinson? Parker and King? Directionally they might be comparable, but there’s a lot of distance between those guys.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantKing spent 3 years at Tennessee and basketball was played very different than it is now. You could actually argue that King/Parker have the same amount of polish because Parker has a better handle and a smoother jumper.
Also, David Robinson spent 4 years at Navey and had a very mediocre freshman year.
You cant compare freshmen to seniors. It doesnt work that way. And yeah, most comparisons are based on style and potiental. What would Parker be scoring if he stayed 3 more years at Duke? Would Embiid look mich more polished in 3 years? They wont be HOF ready after 1 year in the NBA.
