David Kahn calls C-Webb "a schmuck"... Talk about class
Among a handful of entertaining lines, David Khan sent a shoutout to Chris Webber during a Thursday radio appearance. "He's kind of a schmuck, isn't he? Methinks that he spent a lot of time on NBA TV with a former Timberwolves person and he seemed to come into the interview with an agenda. Tough questions are fine, but I felt like he was a little defensive about some of the things."
They really need a new GM and face of the Minnesota Franchise. Does anyone else just sort of know Kahn losing this job is enevitable? Im just waiting for it to happen at this point.
They should fire him and hire Kevin Pritchard instead.
David Kahn was horrible since day 1 when he drafted Rubio AND Flynn back to back. Kinda suprising he made this comment after citing Michael Beasley's marijuana problem is he trying to get fired?
Defensive??? Of course C-Webb HAS the right to be defensive... Especially when you compared Darko Milicic to Chris Webber? That statement shouldn't have been in the same sentence ever but you put it there... That was an insult and a kick in the gut to him Kahn... Look at his resume you, ignorant moron, 5x All Star, 1994 ROY, All-NBA First Team... Has Darko done any of that? I don't think so... I really can't even see how C-Webb's court vision can be compared to Milicic... Kahn, ( Here is me slapping you in the head,) He has every right to be defensive...when you pull him to a low level where he doesn't belong...
"They should fire him and hire Kevin Pritchard instead."
^ +1. Can't believe Pritchard hasn't been hired by the teams with vacant positions yet.
Now I see why he compared Webber to Darko, he had an agenda
What a dlck! He's talking trash about C-Webb when Mr. Kahn thinks Darko Milicic is the next Hakeem Olajuwon. Darko Milicic sucks balls. Kahn might be the worst GM ever.
David Kahn is the face of the franchise sadly
Yes he is thats what I was saying...And they need a new one. If theres one thing every Owner and or manager and or staff should have in the NBA it is respect for NBA Legends. Chris Webber is nothing less than an NBA Legend ans if he won a couple rings would be right up there in the conversation for greatest PF ever.
Not only is Kahn a horrible decision maker he is also a disrespectful "SCHMUCK".
This reminds me of when George Bush was president, but on a much smaller scale.
HIS NAME SOUNDS LIKE A RARE POKEMON!
David Kahn is ridiculous. Seriously, How he must have some blackmail on the owner, theres no way a guy of his low class should still have a job in the NBA
Yeah, now Webber will have even more fun destroying Minnesota with his analysis because they will suck balls this season.
He cant even bash them on national tv because the t wolves are so bad, they arent even on nat tv

Marcus, I don't think anyone in their right mind would compare Milicic with Weber.
Having said that, I think Kahn was saying to Weber, you were a great player but it took a few seasons for the adjustment to the NBA before you became a star. Kahn was trying to make the point that Milicic is still only 25 and he hasn't yet shown what he can do in this league.
It was in no way saying Milicic is in the same league as Weber was. Kahn was merely saying that he sees something in Darko that hasn't yet come out in terms of production on the court.
Whether or not Milicic plays up to the level of his physical talent this season remains to be seen. But anyone with an open mind who watches him, realizes that purely from a talent level alone, he has the potential to be an excellent NBA center. He's a legit 7 feet, he's strong, he can jump, and he can run the court.
Milicic's past problems were not easy to evaluate. He should have never been the number 2 choice overall, and going to the Pistons at the age 18, was the worst thing that could have happened to him. That experience shattered his confidence and maligned his reputation.
And Milicic has to accept the responsibility for his failures and acknowledge he did not handle adversity very well. I think watching the progress of Milicic, or lack thereof this season, will be very interesting.
As a little aside, when you look around the league, giving out a 20 million dollar, 4 year contract in the NBA is hardly a lot of money.
I actually took the time to find a little background about this guy, but not much. his Wikipedia page is only about 200 words long ,and yea thats about it, I have no idea why he would be the GM of anything. dude graduated from law school, and the only experience he had with basketball was as a sportswriter. on the bright side tho, his existence will make our dreams of becoming a NBA GM ever so realistic.
I think that Kahn's mouth has been worse than his job performance. The thing where he blabbed about Beasley is a big deal. If an official cannot avoid talking about confidential information, he cannot effectively do that job. This is just a showing of immaturity. He had to know the media climate that surrounds Darko, and that the decision to give him $20 million will need to be defended. There are times where a GM can be dismissive of criticism, but this was not that instance.
If he is he does not know basketball at all. When he talks I do not get any sense he understands basketball at all. Has no plan for building this team and has no trade bait IMO that could get him a sudden turnaround. Never should have taken Rubio knowing he did not want to play there. This team must be moving cause I do not understand how he has a job.

You might be right, however, if you examine most of the GMs in the NBA, you will find an incredible amount of incompetency. Every year we discuss some of the picks, or lack of selections that should have been made [i.e. D. Blair], that everyone agrees was flat out stupid. The dumb choices happen year after year, yet those morons are given multi-million dollar contracts.
You might be right about Kahn but he's hardly alone. But you know what, as bad as some of his moves were in the draft, Minnesota is a team that's primed to move up this season. I think they will do what Sacramento did last year.
I know I will get negatives for this but Darko's career is nothing like Webbers but his passing skills may be on par with Webbers but since he was never used in that role, it hard for us to know but I have seen him make a few passes that makes me wonder and a lot Europeans player, with Gasol being one of them can pass really well. I don't think it is far fetched to say that Darko has similiar passing but to compare Darko's and Webber's career was pretty stupid.
On the flip side of that if Darko starts playing well from now until his career ends in 10 year and he does not have any big time injuries, he could possibly get close to Webber's career that was derailed by injury.
10 year from now maybe Kahn can say that but now, he is being delusional.
What a joke this guy is. Just in the past year you can point to a plethora of questionable decisions and coments that make him look like a complete moron. Its seems like he believes he is some kind of an authority on basketball its laughable....At this rate he will have a hard time attracting talent.
By the way, If I was Michael Beasley I would feel betrayed by this guy. Way to get make a good first impression on the guy who will most likely lead your team in scoring.
How does he have a job and Pritchard doesn't. He drafted 4 pgs in last draft( Rubio,Flynn, Lawson, Cathles) and a bunch of Pfs and then traded for beasley( good move until he called him a major pothead"). NBA should make a new role that you actually need to know what your doing to be a GM or Owner to keep people like him, Donald Sterling, and Michael Heisley( not willing to pay Xavier Henry full rookie contract, how pathetic can you get.) out of NBA and not make fans suffer.
Milicic = Shaq
david khan has mad some weird decisions but forget all that for a second and just take a look at what he has done this offseason. he signs darko milishit to a 4 yr deal and is willing to take a risk on this guy who has proved nothing, but hes already ready to move freshley signed sessions or sophmore 6th pick jhonny flyn both who have much more potential than ridnour. hez willing to take a risk and with darko but wont do the same with flyn and allow him develp.
currently they have flyn, rdnour, sessions and the most likley to go is sesions but what about next year when rubio come over then what hez gonna move flyn or ridnour. what was the point of drafting flyn if hes not in your plans.
yes beasly was a good trade but hez made some terrible moves
good luck t-wolves youll need it
Beastly was pretty much a gimmee. How hard to you think it was considering Miami probably chose Minny because their second round pick would be lower than other teams that wanted Beasley like say OKC or another team.
Webber came into the league killing as a rookie (18ppg 9 reb and 4 asst), Barkely was a witness, by his third year Webb was 20 and 10... At the age of 25, Webber was 20 and 10... I think Kahn made a HORRIBLE comparison...
did anyone read or listen to the whole interview when he was talking about beasley?..most people didnt because of how they responded but when you listen to the whole thing you see its not bad at all. but of course the media only first played bits and peices to cause controversy
