417basketballfanParticipantJust saw on espn that the warriors will try to trade David Lee. What team would be willing to take on Lees contract?

natevalParticipantMaybe the Celtics take on his contract and grab GS 2015 pick as compensation

ZachAttackParticipantWhat about the T-Wolves? They want another pick in the first round. Guess I don’t know if 30 is good enough for them though.

Numbers_CruncherParticipant1. Utah – they were rumored to him at the deadline and if they want to win now he would be better than Kaminsky; plus, they could still draft Dekker or whoever else. Booker would need to go to San Fran to make it work.
2. Detroit – I know they just traded for Ilyasova, but I doubt the Pistons want him playing 48 minutes a game.
3. Portland/Indiana/Atlanta – they all have a guy who could leave, so you never know.

machu46ParticipantIf Milwaukee strikes out in free agency, I could totally see them agreeing to take on his cap. They have around $26 million in cap space this year, and he brings a lot of what Kidd is looking for in a big man with his passing, offensive rebounding, and solid all-around offensive game. With the Bucks length, they don’t really need him to block shots, but he’s sneaky good at picking up steals for a PF/C.
He won’t be Milwaukee’s first option, but I could definitely see him being someone they might be interested in if they can get a pick or something back from the deal (or dump a smaller, but longer-term contract).

SmooveKRYPTParticipantIf GS is willing to take a year of Nene (or if Philly will take more beloved 2nd round picks to eat the contract)
Toronto can really use him
As the guy above said, Portland & Atlanta if they lose their guys.
This one GS would never do, but if the Spurs strike out on Gasol & Aldridge…Lee would be a nice. consilation prize

Numbers_CruncherParticipantA Nene for Lee trade defeats the purpose for getting rid of Lee; not having to pay so much luxury tax. I’ve heard so many Toronto rumors that they want more defense from their frontcourt that I kind of just dismissed the idea of Lee to them, but I guess I could see them as a possibility. I think they’d rather overpay Tristan Thompson, though.

DolanCareParticipantEveryone’s said the best fits, Detroit, Milwaukee, Toronto.
But just to throw in a dark horse: if the Rockets are unable to secure Aldridge this offseason, I think a move for Lee would be interesting. They would give GS Montiejunas, Capela, maybe Nick Johnson- the point is that the Rockets have cap sapce and some young talent on the cheap. Lee would make the Rockets offense far more diverse.

rich.homie.mitchParticipantIf aldridge leaves. I could see Portland picking him up.
