Daughter of Rockets coach Kevin McHale passes

Alexandra “Sasha” McHale, the daughter of Rockets coach Kevin McHale, passed on Saturday. She was 23.

McHale has been on a leave of absence to be with his daughter and his family in Minneapolis since Nov. 10. His daughter has long battled lupus, an auto-immune disease, and was hospitalized with a related condition.

“I extend my deepest condolences to Kevin and Lynn for the loss of their beautiful daughter, Sasha, on Saturday afternoon,” Rockets owner Leslie Alexander said in a statement on Sunday. ” Kevin and Lynn are loving and dedicated parents who will need our continued support throughout this very difficult time. Our entire organization is mourning the McHale family’s loss and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”

Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson has been acting head coach during McHale leave of absence. McHale has been in communication with Sampson several times each day about the team up until Friday.

My mother has lupus so I do know how serious the condition is. Its really sad. R.I.P. and my condolences go to Kevin McHale and the rest of their family.

man rip to his daughter and 2 the dude above..man i hope everything goes smooth with ur mom man, im close with my mom so i can only imagine what ur goin thru...its posts like this that really make me think how basketball really is just a game compared to some other things
