For fantasy purposes what are the numbers going to look like for this guy? He’s the starter and he put up good defensive stats when he played for Minnesota last season. If he is able to actually make it the entire season as the starter. I’m guessing his line could look something like 11 PTS 6.5 REBS 2 BLKS 1.1 STLS 3 AST. Not really all that bad if he was able to do that, and from his numbers with Minnesota last season that seems to be around where he would be, but we are talking about Darko here.

Minny got such a weird collage of players with their two best players both playing the same position again! In Love and Beasly at PF. How they manage them two guys directly affects Darko because if they play Beasly at 3 where does that leave the 4th pick Wes Johnson playing who is suppose to be NBA ready so u know he will get burn. If Wes play 2guard which he can, where does that leave Brewer who actually turned his career around last year. In the end I think Wes comes off the bench untill they find out what position is best suited for him and Love starting at Power Forward with some burn at the center position, and Beasly having free reign to jack shots up ala Melo from the SF position.

Darko will most likely get around 30 minutes a game for the first time in his career and post career highs of 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks. He could average a double double if Love, Beasley, Johnson, and Brewer werent such good rebounders from their positions.

Having Luke Ridnour at PG for a good chunk of the season could help his numbers offensively as well given that Flynn and Sessions (gone now) were more of score first PGs.

He’ll get something like 12 points, 7 boards, 2 blocks, and 2-3 assists. As for Beasley, he’s going to be used as a SF, and Wes will back up Martell and Beasley at SG and SF. Rambis was the one who wanted Martell and even Kahn said at the presser after the trade that he’s much more productive when given 30 minutes a game, expect him to start. They used Corey a lot last year, and if you have League Pass or live here in MN you’d know that Corey has developed a consistent shot from deep, but his ball handling is still extremely limited, far below average, the moniker “The Drunken Dribbler” still fits very well. He is a very smart player though, and a player you can always depend on to play hard, so he has a long career in the NBA, but the Wolves at this point are looking for players who can be starters, something I don’t think Corey is. I think that’s a big reason they drafted Lazar Hayward too, not as athletic, but still a player who’s a pesky defender, and a hard worker/energy guy with a high BBIQ. Just imagine Corey will be a Restricted Free Agent next year, he’s kind of that Trevor Ariza type, I can see him getting something like $5M per if the League doesn’t strike. The Wolves at this point don’t need a $5M per role player playing 15 minutes a game behind Martell, Wes, and Beasley, they can’t make that type of financial investment on a glue player, he’s more likely to get paid by a veteran/playoff team. Here’s what the minutes will look like next year for the Wolves when fully healthy.

    PG: Flynn – 30 / Ridnour – 18
    SG: Webster – 25 / Johnson – 15 / Brewer – 8
    SF: Beasley – 25 / Johnson – 10 / Brewer – 7 / Webster – 6
    PF: Love – 30 / Beasley – 10 / Tolliver – 8
    C: Darko – 25 / Pekovic – 15 / Tolliver – 8

    Beasley – 35
    Webster – 31
    Love – 30
    Flynn – 30
    Johnson – 25
    Darko – 25
    Ridnour – 18
    Tolliver – 16
    Pekovic – 15
    Brewer – 15

ive given up on Darko. his potential is gone. i say he loses his starting spot after 2 months. Anthony Tolliver may take alot of Darkos time

I’m expecting about 8 pts 6 rbs and 1.4 blocks from Darko. I agree with Zeke staing that Tolliver will get a lot of minutes at center too, I bet Darko only gets about 18-20 mpg, he is also pretty foul prone too. It’d be a great story if he turned his career around, but at this point I think he’ll just be a solid, servicable player, not a double double threat.

is good for 7 points 5 boards 1-2 blocks, 1 assist and horrible free throw shooting, if he sticks to career averages. however if minnesota’s whole we believe in you campaign pays off he might be worth 12/9/2/2 if you get really lucky

I could see Darko playing 25 to 30 mpg and maybe putting up 11-12ppg, 7-8 rpg and 1.2 to 1.5bpg. Pekovic will see decent minutes now Jefferson has moved on and Love may even play some C if they go smallball with Beasley at PF on occasions.
