Lotto StudParticipantDarius Morris declares for draft
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Standout Michigan sophomore guard Darius Morris has declared for the NBA draft, though he has not hired an agent.
Morris is eligible to return for his junior season if he withdraws his name from draft consideration by May 8.
The Los Angeles native helped the Wolverines to a 21-14 record and a trip to the NCAA tournament. He averaged 15 points a game after 4.4 as a freshman. He also set a team record with 235 assists in a season and led the Big Ten with 6.71 per game.
In two seasons at Michigan, Morris has started 53 of 67 games, averaging 9.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

JNixonParticipantMorris is an interesting prospect, and feel good saying I was talking about him before the season as an NBA prospect despite a modest Fr. year. Morris is a strong talent with great size at the PG spot, and solid athleticism, quickness and handle. His comparison from me would be Rodney Stuckey. He needs to work on his off the ball game and his perimeter skills though before he becomes a good NBA player though. Right now he needs the ball to be effective. If he is indeed a PG then he will be fine, but he seemed like a SG playing the point for Michigan because they had no other PG and because they wanted to take advantage of his ability to play when he dominates the ball. I’m not sure his ball-dominant ways will fly in the NBA if he shows that he’s not a PG.

kobyzParticipantyeah his style of play is like Tyreke Evans or Rodney Stuckey, but is not as athletic, quick or big like them… so in the NBA he may be more similar to Jarrett Jack!
