I’m getting on the Dario Saric bandwagon right now.
Draftexpress has a less than flattering bio on him and this site has nothing but I did my own research.
This guy is a flat out winner, he dominates every competition he goes against. He’s had an extremely impressive last 3-4 years.
He’s currently competing at the 2013 world championship and hopefully he gets to go against team USA which is stacked with future stars. He just came off an impressive performance against South Korea 32 12 12 and before that a 14 15 7 game.
Saric stands 6’10 and just turned 19 years old. He’s got great size as a small forward and may not have super athleticism but he still rebounds at a terrific rate. At the Nike hoops summit last year Noel played 24 minutes (same as Saric) however Saric out rebounded Noel 14-4 to go along with 13 points and 5 assists. He’s been the best European players in his age group since 2010, winning the European championship in 2010 and 2012, both times winning MVP. In 2010 he put up 24.3 11.5 and 5.8 assists for the tournament and delivered 35 11 11 in the final. Averages of 25.6 and 10.1 boards in 2012.
He’s currently playing professionally in Croatia’s top league and led his club to the championship and taking finals MVP.
In the 2013 draft, Saric was projected as a top 10-20 player for much of the season before deciding to withdraw. His reason for withdrawing was because he wants more experience before he plays in the NBA, this to me is a sign of his maturity.
If he continues to have a strong U19 world championship showing followed by an impressive season in Croatia I can see Saric moving up draft boards into the top 5-10. I doubt everyone will agree with me on this but I’m putting it out there because I believe a good scout can see the players potential before needing everyone else to agree. I had oladipo and trey Burke as top 10 picks while DX and nbadraft had them in the mid 30’s and 20’s a third of the way through the season. Obviously I can’t claim that prediction in hindsight but I’m explaining why I’ve got Saric so high already.

Yeah Saric is definetly underrated, he didn’t play at the start of the season because his club Zagreb didn’t let him go to Cibona Zagreb, so that is why he was low on the draft.
I watched a him play a lot this year and you could see he is really dominant in rebounding .
He has to work on his shot , players often leave him alone to shot.. That’s something he needs to develop.
Saric is very dominant in European championship, he is a triple double threat every game , and he certainly isn’t selfish. Sometimes he even overpasses.
He has great potential . But he has a small wingspan and isn’t very quick. So that’s a problem on defense.
Other than that he could realy develop into a good player

    I’m in the bandwagon too.
    He can do it all!
I would have him as a top 10 pick for next year.

I’ll never forget when I watched him play, dominated throughout the game, Lebron-like… who was the teams best rebounder? Saric. Who was the team’s best scorer? Saric. Playmaker?? Saric.
He would grab most defensive rebounds and run the ball up the court making nonstop plays for him and his teammates.
In the halfcourt, he scores a little more like a PF…. pick and pop (-to iso), posting-up (where he might be underrated) either in the high post or low, grabbing offensive rebounds. etc

Impresive statline despite a loss, he had 23 points, 14 boards, 10 turnovers and 15 fouls drawn!

this is nothing strange. he is coached by bigest lie of Croatian basketball, Drazen Brajkovic. He is coach who can’t get job in clubs for over 10 years, but always get job in Croatian junior selections. He is overforcing Saric forcing him to create to much. He can’t organize sheeps on paper let alone create usfull ofensive play. Only thing he can do is give ball to one player hands and let him do job insted of him

here is scouting wideo of difrece betwen Argentina and Croatia game plan. 2 years ago, Saric included, lead by big lie of Croatian basketball named Brajkovic
