what kind of trade value does danny granger have right now? pacers seem to be doing just fine without him so do you think it would make sense to maybe shop him around and see what you get whether its a future draft pick or someone to bring some depth to the bench.

I think Danny Granger is still an integral part of this team. Paul George is emerging, but he’s not ready to be the number one option on a playoff team yet. A year or two down the road, he’ll be fine, but Granger’s scoring and experience should still be considered. I don’t think his value is that high at the moment considering he is almost 30 and coming off knee tendinosis.

paul george is showing signs he could be the go too guy so imo trading granger whos gonna want his shots when he comes backs makes sense id try and get a solid glue guy like jared dudley and a pick plus it wouldnt hurt getting that huge contract gone if someone would take it coming off the injury

If the Pacers could get an above average shooter on the wing and a 1st round pick that would be nice. I still want to see how the combination works first, keep him for the season and look then make a decision in off-season.

I don’t get why everyone wants him to be traded. He has been there best player including last year too. Granger can play the two or the three spot same goes for Paul George. I would want this duo to stay together because of there length and size for the positions. These guys haven’t shown any reason why they wouldn’t be able to coexist. The Pacers have a real chance of making something happen in the playoffs this year and the future, long as this team stays together and keep adding parts to improve.

the reason I want him to be traded is granger is not A SUPERSTAR. He has a nice contract, but hes not worth it. They should trade him and try to add more depth. You can compensate for a superstar by having great depth just like the pistons in 2003, but ultimately you need a guy like kobe, duncan, durant, lebron etc… in order to WIN. The pacers are almost there, but they just dont have that superstar. Granger is nowhere near those guys I mentioned. Even when he is healthy, which is very rare to begin with, he is not a superstar. By trading him, I think they can possibly add some depth which might get them over.

Trade a very good player with a team friendly contract for depth. What kind of depth are you looking for players like Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, Derrick Fisher, Jason Terry, Al Harrington, Adam Morrison, Darko, Courtney Lee and Louis Williams ? I don’t think adding a bunch of bench guys will put them over the hump. I think Granger contract is up after this season and he’ll likely be reasonable again with a new contract.

The 2003 Pistons didn’t have a Superstar. However, each guy in there starting lineup where top 5 in their position.

THE RAPTORS WILL SHOOT AN OFFER TO THEM. they need to replace augustine and hill isnt exactly owning up to his contract. they need a solid pg more than getting granger back. their game isnt to shoot more shots and toss up more threes its to make the most out of their possessions and make solid safe plays which calderon is very capable of…but his defense on the other hand…well its self explanatory.

Have George with the ball in his hands while Granger plays off all.. I see no reason why these two can’t be successfull together.

IF Granger returns healthy, that does gives the Pacers more depth. The Pacers are very good right now. Now, they’re about to get back a former All-Star who’s averaged 20+ points and is a very good shooter on the wing. The problem in the past was that Granger didn’t have enough around him. Now, he does.
Hill/Augustine
George/Stephenson
Granger/Green
West/Hansbrough
Hibbert/Mahinmi
I wish we had a pass first point guard on the roster, but that IS a team with depth. To me, Granger gives the team the extra scoring and perimeter shooting it needs. People seem to think that he can’t play with George, which doesn’t make sense. Granger is a player that moves without the ball, can catch and shoot, etc. He doesn’t require isolations or clearouts. He can also play three positions. He’ll be a better player with George’s emergence.
Granger’s trade value isn’t very high right now considering his injury, but even if it was… I see no reason to trade him right now unless it truly makes sense.

Despite the fact we don’t have a pass first PG, we have PG who is a very willing passer and will be able to create at the SG spot once Granger returns. I think George will sit around 16-17ppg, but his FG% will become far more efficient, with Granger return. Not to mention I am very excited about a Stephenson led bench.

  Paul george and roy hibbert are good passers from a wing play and inside player. If the can have a point bring the ball up and run the offense through these two the effects off not having a pass first will be minimalized

I agree with Never_Ever. Yes business is business but sometimes there still is team loyalty. Prince – pistons, Pierce – celtics. Manu, parker, TD. Kobe-Lakers.
Granger has always played with the Pacers, now they are in a very strong position I think he would want to take a pay cut and maybe take a lesser role for a chance at a ring. He may not be 100% the same player but he could still come up big for a couple of games / clutch times each playoff round.
I had Granger in one of my fantasy teams back a few years. The guy was a beast, there was about 3 straight months were he was clearly number 1, with most of the season he was a top 3 guy. Sure fantasy is a little different to real life situations but the guy was still dominant.
If they did trade Granger, no young, lotto bound, rebuilding team would want him – a contending team would want him. Which is exactly what the Pacers don’t want; to give him to their opposition…. How many times have you seen guys fire up with big games against their former team…
